  1. Paul, Ask him if he has heard of Kaiser Soze !!! Ian.
  2. Not so crazy when you think how many originals keep getting found in the US and stuck on ebay, surely that means that every time another Mel Britt is found and stuck on ebay it,s getting as common as muck but bet your last $ it will sell for well over JM's guide value !!! Now FF to all these 70's boots, you won't be finding many of these in US junk shops (i know some are found but not many), you struggle to find them in UK shops now !! how many folk have worn them out or thrown them away, i know a few lads who collect them in every format convinced that 1 day they will be rare, even as boots why should the fact they are bootlegs make any difference to rarity ??. i bet the 70's MB boot is 10 times rarer then a real one !!! good luck to them !! whatever floats ya boat i suppose Ian.

DMW-XL-114312 would seem to be the normal issue. WXB-118209 with alt matrix no of S4KM-0728-1 was issued with a picture sleeve I can remember seeing the alt matrix No copy in a US price guide at $600 about 8 years ago but can't remember who's it was think this also applies to WDJ copies too Ian.
  4. I have several original releases on Stardust, a lot of them had coloured & marbled effect vinyl mainly gold !! some of them are Jimmy Radcliffe i,m sure, wish i could find them to scan it in !!! I bought them in a job lot from Canada about 8 to 10 years ago and the seller said he worked for the label years ago, think it,s folded now so the more recent ones could well be not so original Ian.
  5. Red & White Demos went from TMG501 to TMG579 after that (TMG580 onwards they were Green & White and much later on just plain Black the tightwads !!) The R/W's have always been considered very tasty and are the most valuable & sought after !! Can't remember why but think it was something to do with other UK labels looking same (Stateside etc) although they weren't on general sale !! there was also a record No change by Stateside to avoid confusion. May have been an ink price issue too Red is mighty expensive Someone else will know for sure !! Ian.

1st thing to buy is a decent box to put them in, then see how fast you can fill it As already stated buy original vinyl only either in demo or issue form, it's a personal taste thingy that will soon grow on you !! They also look nice in original sleeves good hunting Ian.
  8. I have had all the 500,s a few times in issue & mainly demo form over the last 36 years of collecting. Got up to 1048 at one point with only a handful missing, had all the EP's inc 2020 (in fact it,s the only one i have left still with the LP) Had a very decent Stateside collection too, gave it to a mate when i joined the forces Trying to collect US white demo's is a nightmare !! so many variations and releases gave that up pretty quickly !! Now i only have about 200 left, a mix of issues and G/W demo's, all for sale (or whats left after been picked through !) Kept a few R/W's for my play box and thats it !! Just not got the interest or the money these days sadly, not sure i agree with collecting "whole sets" in a year or so, whats the fun in that !! Ian.
  9. Yep !!, original was on Yellow GM. Ian.
  10. 2 x copies in Soul galore sales, 1 @ £175 , 1 @ £200 !! Ian.
  11. Hard to tell Benji !!, could well be but as it,s been buffed it could have been glued all the way across but there is a chance that the buffing was done before it was glued ! by using a washable water based glue if it don't work it will just wipe off and won't effect the vinyl/styrene (he says fingers crossed lol) I have another rare record that arrived snapped and i just sellotaped the B side and that plays perfect too, good job the flip was crap tho !! I had some dub plates made of unreleased Motown stuff and made my own labels, used Pritt PVA craft glue to stick them on and once dried i just wiped excess off with a cloth... simples .. !! Ian.
  12. Without doubt his best outing has to be, "Don't it feel good to be free" Motown M1284F from 1973 , pure midtempo xover magic. if you don't know this shame on you Ian.
  13. 1 in sales Fred !! Ian.
  14. what about the multi coloured Bamboo of Mel & Tim - BIM ??, must be dog rare Or was it just vastly overpriced when i saw it in someones box recently !! Ian.
  15. Out of all the copies Sam payed the most for his !! Mark S got his off ebay cheap (ish), Mick H didn't pay much more for his and i would imagine there are probably another 6 or 7 copies locked in collections, some in the UK (in the North west !!) Probably 9 or 10 in total and how many still sat in thrift shops in the US ??? Great record imho, but whoever pressed it up did it a tad early as it hadn't really made it massive before it got shoved out to the masses Ian.
  16. It did cross my mind about the lining up bit looking at my Alexander Patton issue the 4 prongs are, 1, the top one is right on the S of USA Recordings. 2, Right side one is just below the F of the record No. 3, Bottom one is above the H in discotHeque 66 4, left hand one is above the Brujem word. anal or what Cheers, Ian.
