For sale - a white demo of The Sherrys - Put your arms around me - JJ records. £300 EX condition, plays great no pops/clicks etc all time classic always thought to be 1st record played at Wigan !!! (wonder if this is it ) Label is very clean apart from someone has used a black marker pen to make the JJ into HOT !! this may or may not rub off. B side label is same & has a very light red x & someone has crossed out J little and written "surprise" above it in black !! Seen an old ad for an alldayer at the Top rank Reading on Sunday 27th Oct 1974 ( sure it was 74 !!) but it started with a "Soul Train" journey from Crewe, picking up at Stoke, Wolverhampton & Birmingham. "Soul Train" DJ's inc Soul Sam, Gary Powell & Richard Sterling (sic) , a cost of £3.50 inc the rail fare & entrance to Reading all dayer. So who was onboard ???, did the train have a sprung floor ? how did they stop the records jumping on those old rails was talking to Sam about this last week, he can remember the alldayer but not the train journey so did it take place or not !!! or was the ad just a way of getting Soulies to Reading and folk had to sit quietly in those awfull smelly carriages eating stale BR cardboard buttys, soft crisps and luke warm extra strength tea ?? what interests me is all these users who have suddenly appeared using these names. d***l, s***p, g***m etc etc etc, all have good feedback but i have never seen them bidding on NS for ages , now they bid on everything Ian.

used to have a very rare west coast blue labelled demo of this. Great sound, heard the PJ version but not anywhere near Idle Few imho. Ian.

Dave Raistrick had a few of these 12",s, he couldn't shift them, i played one and it sounded crap disco, not a patch on the 7"

It now resides in my box thank you very much Pete I played it out recently and got more reaction from people coming up to see what it was then got up to dance , cracking sound, needs lots of plays imho. Ian.

Does it matter what price it should be ?? still played at the right time in a set it ramms the floor, so people must still want to hear it, yet i still see people play it at the wrong time in a set Bloke on our market sells it for £3 and Robert John uk issues/demos for £3 too probably their true value but floor fillers at the right time
