  1. Unknown Artist - Do I Have To Come Right Out And Say It (Ridon 1966 or 1967).mp3
  2. It's by a group called 'Madrid (And The Counts)'. They had one official single on the Rust label, which doesn't appear to be widely known. Not sure what it sounds like. Anyone has digital copy by any chance? This acetate was produced by Rick Keefer in November 1967. He produced the Little Curtis "Soul Desire" 45 on Vanco right around the same time. I can't find any evidence online that this song was ever released. It's another cover of Darrell Banks and Ike & Tina Turner's "Somebody (Somewhere) Needs You". Good dancer! This version is closer to Ike & Tina Turner's version. Anyone has any more info on this? The B-side is a cover version of one of Buffalo Springfield's songs. It's more Garage/Teen Rock, which is what Rick Keefer was known for mostly. Madrid - Somebody Somewhere (Ridon Productions 1967).mp3
  3. Fantastyk - I Love You, I Love you/Tell Me All Your Fantasies (AMG '84) M- (unplayed) $200 Natural Impulse - Time Is Right/She Went Away (NI '78) (VG++/EX - a few hairline marks visible under bright light) very clean copy overall; probably one of the nicest ones to ever surface (but not quite M-) $1500 $1600 for both PM if interested
  4. Mystery solved! This 45 was released on Rampart Records (R-201). It's called "Dev Singh - No Surprizes". They spelled surprises with a 'z'. https://www.discogs.com/Dev-Singh-No-Surprizes-Maple-Leaf-Summer/release/9703949
  5. Spoke too soon...found some Funk & Soul related Master Reel To Reel tapes by Wally Cox, Snooky & The Cosmic Flowers, Windjammers, San Francisco T.K.O.'s, etc.
  6. Thanks, Roburt. I am 100% certain that this is related to Leo Kulka. I acquired several other metal plates, some Golden State Recorders acetates, Sonic Arts testpressings and other stuff related to Sonic Arts/Golden Gate Recorders/Leo Kulka in general. See pictures. The majority of the metal mother plates I have belong to the early Sonic Arts Laboratory Series (mostly audiophile classical music). These are 14" plates with a huge hole in the middle that are inverted. They don't play on a normal turntable and if so, it would be backwards/inside out. These were pressed up by TELDEC in "West" Germany, then sent back to Leo Kulka. A few non LS Series plates have an actual label glued on the sleeve, which make it easy to identify. It also shows the number of copies pressed up (500 in Imani's case), which is a pretty sough after record. This particular one - GSR-201 - appears to have been cut as a 45. It's one of the few smaller mother plates that is a normal 12" size with a small hole and has only one song on it. I am not sure how it fits in with their numbering system. There's no additional info on it other than a little note card listing 6 different cat. numbers. It appears to be the only Soul related mother plate in this batch and one of the few that actually plays...
  7. I found this metal (copper?) mother plate in San Francisco. It's on the Golden State Records label. Cat # GSR-201. Released on December 19, 1977. Anyone knows what this is? Discogs and Google don't yield any useful infofo. UnknownArtist-UnknownTitle(GoldenStateRecordsGSR201_1977).mp3
  8. Less than 12 hours to go on one of my biggest ever listings of rare Soul 45s...
  9. Hi, I usually don't post on here, but wanted to get the word out due to the quantity and quality of records I have for sale at the moment. Lots of late 60's promos. Likely won't come across a similar collection anytime soon. The listings are all ending on Sunday. Here's a link: http://www.ebay.com/sch/12inchwizard/m.html?_trksid=p3692
  10. Thanks for the input. I don't think that this record was recorded/released in 1972/1976 either. Just wondering if this is an authentic/legit EK remix or if this was done by someone else. I can't tell and can't find anything online. Certainly not a bad version of "Date with the rain"...much better than the recent 9 minute Motown re-edit for sure. As mentioned, it has the same cat.# as "Brooklyn Express - Are You Ready?" on BC Rec.'79 (http://www.discogs.com/Brooklyn-Express-Are-You-Ready/release/1541056). Not sure if this is a coincidence or if this was supposed to be a release on this label, but never worked out for whatever reason.
  11. I found this white label 12" in San Francisco today. It seems to be a different (much longer than the 45) version of Eddie Kendrick's "Date With The Rain" (typo in title). The record itself doesn't reveal much info other than having the same matrix # as "Brooklyn Express - Are You Ready on BC '79". Does anyone know what this is? 13. Does anyone have any info on this 45 out of Atlanta? Is this the only release by Al Stevens/AA label? http://www.discogs.c...release/2613258 I posted it on Discogs and Youtube a while back, but haven't been able to turn up any info on it anywhere on the web. Al Stevens - Changes (AA '81).mp3
