  1. I enjoyed the entire 2nd season of Tales from the Tour Bus, and the Betty Davis segment was by far the best ever, as it shone a spotlight on a talent that isn rarely acknowledged. I am happy to hear she is still alive, but puzzled by why there has not been much known about her. Hopefully this segment will increase awareness of Betty' s unique contribution to music and revive interest in her.
  2. Canadian folksinger Gordon Lightfoot had a point to make as well.
  3. A song with lyrics that by all means would seem dated, but are as fresh, fun and simply an irresistible call to dance, as anything on radio today. Smokey Robinson wrote this circa 1965 and when I saw him perform this live at the Burnaby, Canada Blues Fest a few years back, the audience went nuts. Smokey's vocal here is even more soulful than ever, and Daryl Hall is the perfect vocal and musical partner. WOW!
  4. I read that Hip-o Select which puts together from the vaults CD sets for Universal Records who now owns the Motown masters, may be releasing an extended version of brother Marvin's jazz masterpiece, "Trouble Man." I have a DVD copy of the movie, which sucks big time, but to my ears, the soundtrack music featured is somewhat different than the original vinyl/CD release. Any thoughts/comments? Cheers! Mark
