I'm saying to you Mr Howard that you too Sir should take a bow yourself for all the hard work you do in promoting this venue. Credit were it's due pal. I'll see you on the 18th and It'll be the first time I've seen Chalky DJ since Simon persuaded him to come out of retirement to do The Bury Town Hall Allnighter a few years ago. Most of the main hall came up to support him in the Kenwood Suite upstairs and he gave them a wonderful selection of Lifeline classics and unreleased things as well. 👍👏👏
Aww thanks for the kind words mate. Hopefully I won’t disappoint this time either.
Its been a great year once more at Ashton with the venue cementing its place at the top. A happy new year to everyone involved and who shows theirbsupoort for the hard work the guys put in.
Hopefully something like this will be dusted off….old Jimmy Wensiora cover up and one I revived at Lifeline

One night at the Radcliffe allnighter he told me I could have a recording of them if I could sort it out. Not thinking straight, I thought I only live 20 minutes away I'll take it home now transfer them onto CD and then I can bring it straight back to him, so off I went. As I crept into the house at 2 am hoping to set up the equipment without waking up the missus. The dog gave the game away barking like mad. What the hell are you up to she shouts. It's okay I won't be a minute. My technical ability is very limited so the chance of me pulling this off was virtually nil but I thought 2 great unreleased Johnny Sayles tracks is worth a go. I can't remember the titles but I do remember Andy Dyson playing one out one night. Hopefully somebody will remember them?
It may have been my old acetate. The titles will come to me, they are on the Pvine Lp but slightly different takes.
PS Just seen Mick's post and Baz M's comment.

Not long now for the Summer Soul Weekender in the beautiful setting of the North Yorkshire and South Durham Border alongside the River Tees at The George Hotel, Piercebridge. As well as the superb feast of soul music you have excellent river side walks, Roman ruins and a BBQ if the weather gods are kind.
We do still have a double room available due to the previous occupant having to have surgery after months of waiting.
Interested? Get in touch with me via PM.

The hotel was sold out but now unfortunately due to a hospital appointment, one more couple have had to cancel and we have a room available. If you would fancy a weekend in a stunning setting beside the Rive Tees, on the North Yorkshire/South Durham border, with some superb Soul music from some great Dis then give either Gary Prescott, Kirsty Hazelgrave or myself a shout.
It is the last Weeknd before the kids are on holiday so your last chance of a break without them! BBQ on Saturday afternoon if the weather Gods are kind.
Lots of great walking in a beautiful part of the country, along the river Tees where Gazza and Botham et al often fish for Salmon, you have High Force waterfall 25 miles away if you fancy a venture a little further away.
