Joanie Summers
It might be Northern Soul but it is still pop and as good a northern soul as it is I'm sick of f*cking hearing it, like listening to the top twenty countdown for don't know how many years....and still at number 8....Joannie Summers!

Not sure but don't think the Upset ever got released, just a few got out maybe by mistake, there's no label number or anything on the label. Only know of a couple of copies and a mate of mine has both of 'em. T'other side is excellent as well

Only know of one person to play it out very hard one to find IMO and because of it's obscurity hard one to price as well. I've a scan somewhere.

Tough one Dave, not seen many copies of this. Last one was on e-bay that I saw and the price it fetched I can't remember.

6 X6 Was There A Legitimate Vocal
It never got as far as just being recorded at the guy's audition for Motown as far as I'm aware, studio test pressing only. Never pressed other than that not even for filing purposes, thats probably why the above you mention haven't picked up on it. It is genuine and not the thing that was suppoosed to be for Musicor or that terrible 70's job that is knocking about. It really is bad and Berry Gordy probably couldn't get the guy out of the studio's quick enough and then destroy all traces of the attempt at a vocal As for not hearing it, John has played the thing at the 100 Club. Trust me Tone, stay on the unbelieving side, you DON'T want to hear it

6 X6 Was There A Legitimate Vocal
I will back you up Dave and say it does exist and that it also isn't a demo but a studio test pressing and that it is utter utter utter shite!!!!! As you said it's that bad there is no wqonder he didn't get a recording contract It's that bad I would never play it either

John Manships Auction
I saw one for sale for less than £500 after the first one John auctioned. It was only VG+ I think condition wise but condition doesn't seem to affect prices on other auctions such as e-bay where mint prices are paid for wornm copies. If you look back in topics the general consensus at the time John auctioned the first one was that it was a £300 record, not just on ehere but other forums and chat groups as well. Even John's second guide, which was the current guide at the time lists it at £200, Tim listed it at £300. Now because of one (what many considered a silly price) auction price of £1100, that is now the going rate. And there's been several about for sale since. I still don't think it's worth over a £1000

John Manships Auction
I would say a couple of dozen serious collectors willing to shell out top $. I'd agree with your second comment that there are less than a 1000 records worth a £1000. Lots of those fetching a grand and over are over priced IMHO.

John Manships Auction
I wouldn't have thought the number was no where near a 1000 who would pay serious $'s for a record Always seems to be the same few dozen who pay the money Some of the top dj's who pay big bucks sell to buy in some cases as some of those can't really afford the cash thats asked these days.

John Manships Auction
but the Ringleaders does come up for sale, practically every week some place or other. It's well documented John Anderson had a massive hit with this title, it was also a hit locally around Chicago with 1000's sold so why still around £400 when £50 IMO would be nearer the mark
