    Greetings Soulsters,

This record seems to have come out on two similar labels 'The Carriage Trade' and just 'Carriage'. any info on the different releases?

    cheers in advance

    dean

    Hi Dean

I've got the Carriage Trade issue

The dead wax readings are all etched in this is how mine reads    S  1   R4267  D.3

    Good Side reads  S  2 R4268   D.3

Never had the other 1 but i'm sure the Pinches bros may know , i don't think myself there is any difference in recordings Toni O played the Carriage Demo out & it sounded the same as mine

Just noticed on You Tube Carriage Demo has published 1972 not on CT label

    Hope this helps

You know what I'm like with 'modern' and 70's soul, I just wondered if anyone knew a record by Sheron Wiley called I Can't Live Without Your Love (Free Flight PB 11485). It's the B side of a ballad called So Close. There are promos of So Close about but I can't find a stock copy. Reason I'm asking, it's actually a pretty good fast dancer which I'm surprised I can't find out about. Sounds like it could have been massive back in the late 70's.

    Hi Pete

Don't know it but i'd like to hear a sound clip always interested in new 7ts dancers

A rare English Psych 45 that has been played before under several C/U names. Recently sold one to Japan for around £400

    Ta dave

I didn't pay that much for it lol m8

This has been played to a lot of collectors which all liked

Even Mr Chapman  & Mr Minshull was impressed with the sound when they heard it & right for BIG rooms

Thanks Kev. I had looked at Discogs, but that's a bit random. What I'm after is a US 45s listing, all tidy with A side and B side titles in a nice neat chronological/release number order.

Not interested in the subsidiaries, LPs or UK releases either.

    Anyone?

    Hi Mark

Looks like you'll have to DIY m8 :wicked:

  6. I'm doing a spot tonight at The Cock O' Budworth for Mr Jenks

It's a small venue but a great place to be

He always offers me a small fee to DJ but i always waver the fee & tell him to give it to a charity of his choice

Like most of the Collector DJ's on here its a hobby & it's about the music & the passion we have about the scene NOT MONEY !!!

Yes there is a lot of you do mine & i'll do yours in the Stoke-On-Trent & Crewe area but because they don't know any better IMHO

I don't get involved in those sort of social events

It is definitely the Whispers and it does sound more similar to the Dore version. There is an alternative version on the Northern Soul of Dore cds but as I haven't heard the cd I can't definitively say that the one on Youtube is indeed the Dore alt take but would assume it is.

This is the version on the Dore CD

re mixed on the Gold label  styrene I'm sure this was done around 1970  not the same mix to the Yellow label 1 vinyl which assumed a 1973 release
