Modern Soul...a Future Classic ?
Wasn't there promo copies too not just bootleg one's? I hope so as I have a CDR of this and was told it was taken from the promo having met Frank I"d hate to think I'd had anything to do with bootleging his stuff. Cheers Paul PS I only took the CDR after it became apparant the CD wasn"t getting released. Will of course be buying the official release, nice album

- Verdict On Larry Wu?
Niether love it or hate it myself, its an OK kinda 80's dancer, but Mr Wu will always be a top man for me 'cos he wrote that nice Jean Carne song. Cheers Paul- Zz & Co
Good to here "Ole' Z Z" is in good shape and blessed. Don't own the 2nd press so can"t compare. Any of his gospel music available on CD? Legally of course!!! Always thought he had a great voice soulful and earthy. "I've got ma new clothes oown.....'an I'm ready to shayine!!......Got ma rap laid out for the laaydies, designed to blow theyar minds!....An' I'm ready...!!!" Er etc etc Cheers Paul- Zz & Co
Hi David, I own a copy of the "first press" and it plays perfectly, no skips and it looks like pretty good vinyl to me. I'd never heard of the secound press until the first copy on Johns auction a while ago. Good thread! So how is old Z Z these days then? And what does he make of the UK interest in his wonderful 45? Cheers Paul Woosnam- Modern Oldies
Oh God no, isn't the northern oldies scene scary enough for you?!!- Does Anyone Know This Record?
I'm not sure, question mark- Your Favourite 100 Club Single
Its on CDKEND 935 "Good Things" Chuck Jackson Cheers Paul Woosnam- Your Favourite 100 Club Single
And the other side of John Edwards "This Mans Arms" Lolleata Holloway a good minute longer than the CD track- Great Female Vocals
Not sure mate could be from their Roulette LP? Cheers Paul- Pete Miles
I recognise that fruitbowl!!!!!!!- The Ikettes........plus Ike N Tina
- Great Deep Compilations
Hi Paul, Althuogh I've not seen this particular LP I would imagine it's a bootleg. There were a lot of dodgy comps from the 70's/80's made for the demand of the largely Surinamese deep soul scene in Holland. Some 45's were booted as well. Hans Diepstraaten Knows a lot more than me about all this. Cheers Paul Woosnam- Valentino "i Was Born This Way"
So what label was the indie release?- Nate Evans On Dpr
Your memory serves you correctly,'jctom', but he only cast his spell for a year ' 76-' 77... theres brief Cheers Paco- Nate Evans On Dpr
"The Look On Your Face"/"This Time With Feeling" Thats Evans the song isn't it? Theres lovely! Cheers Paco- Value Please?,spinners Test Press Lp
Its from 1973 Ken, simply called "The Spinners" or "The Detroit Spinners" if its a Euro' release. Recorded at Sigma sound with the usual Philly gang, Vince Montana, Ronnie Baker, Earl Young, Bobby Eli, Larry Washington etc etc produced and arranged by Thom Bell. Also contains the hit "Ghetto Child". As for value, collecting wise ain't got a clue, artistically and soulfully its priceless!! Cheers Paco- Valentino "i Was Born This Way"
Wulfie, as far as I know it was never bootleged, did get a UK release tho'. My copy is '75 Cheers Paul - Verdict On Larry Wu?
