    Northern Noise Soul Club

Northern Noise Soul Club St. Joseph's Function Room Harpers Lane Chorley, Lancashire PR6 0HR ... One of the top clubs in the North open their doors soulies from all around the country again on September 4th. After last month's event we have a lot to live up to but I think we can do that. The usual resident guest dj's Dave, Garry and Janet plus Shaun Callon who played a brilliant last set yesterday, it would be rude to not invite him back. Our guest list is pretty impressive again. Denis Billingham, originally from Leeds but now settled in Cleveleys was a resident dj at the original Twisted Wheel for three years as well as dj at Droylesden, Bury, Hyde Town Hall, Leeds Central, Black Cat Soul Club, North Leeds Soul Club and many more. Alongside Denis it's a welcome return to the Soul Dawg, Dave Hutchinson. Dave is currently one of the most active dj's on the scene. He's been to Northern Noise four times as a dj and is a regular attender at our events and is in demand all around the country. They both appeared at our first week ender at Sand le Mere and are appearing again at the second one in November. Two great dj's and two of the nicest blokes you will meet. Open between 2pm and 8pm, fantastic dance floor and lot's of safe secure on site parking. We're less than 5 minutes from junction 8 of the M61 motorway and minutes from Chorley train, bus stations and national hotel chains if you want to spend a week end of soul at a choice of several top Lancashire soul events on the same week end. We would be happy to help with bookings. Contact Dave on 07751 874008 for further details.

  10. I'm really excited about Northern Noise Soul Club's charity event on the 3rd April at St. Joseph's, Chorley. We are raising funds for Blesma (the limbless veterans}. I investigated several charities who help ex servicemen and on the whole I found these the best. They spend less on administration than most of the others so more goes to help the veterans and less on executive wages and admin. Mentioning no names but some charities take as much as 98% on wages; they know who the...y are. We have 14 dj's giving their time for free playing the best in Northern Soul, that's another 1 hour extension,.......thanks to St. Joseph's thanks to St. Joseph's for agreeing to that. We will be holding a raffle and any donations for raffle prizes would be greatly appreciated. Janet Carr kindly offered to run the raffle and also Karen has offered to help as well. So far we have a Northern Soul themed picture/display, signed Wigan and Widnes Rugby League shirts and a double decking session with me and my records at Northern Noise but only for a complete beginner (poisened chalice or what) as prizes. ALL proceeds raised from entrance fee, collection boxes and raffle will be donated to Blesma. Everyone professes their appreciation of our servicemen but that's the easy bit. They gave their time and in this case their limbs for us, let's give them something tangible in return. We are trying to arrange someone from Blesma to come along and give a short speech on their behalf Ex veterans are particularly welcome wearing medals, service caps (optional) or in civvies we don't mind. Please share and if humanly possible attend the event. I guarantee it will be worth travelling for. This is one of the top soul events in the North West if not the whole country with people regularly travelling from all corners of the country. If you could only make it for a couple of hours that helps our disabled veterans. St. Joseph's Function Room, Harpers Lane Chorley Lancashire PR6 0HR Fantastic wooden dance floor Lot's of safe, secure car parking. 2pm - 9pm £4.00 entry This is a soul event for soul fans. Disco Divas and ale monsters not welcome.

The event was a major success and that was the first one. All the caravans and lodges were sold out and a great turn out from local people made Friday and especially Saturday electric. The dj's read the mood perfectly and kept the dance floor buzzing and our singer Johnny Boy had the crowd "eating out of his hand". We have been invited back again to do another week ender so we are just waiting for potential dates and we'll announce it on Soul Source.

Confirmed ticket sales suggest an attendance of approaching 250 on the Saturday and slightly less on Friday and Sunday with 4 days to go
