  1. It'd be rude to head to the steel city for just one day of the best music on earth wouldn't it? Announcing the official warm up to THE night of the year in the RnB calendar - at the bar with the best array of ales in Sheffield with myself and the Pow Wow mob hosting. Expect a soundtrack from the deeper, darker and weirder side of the rhythm and blues scene and just have a bloody good piss up. Don't overdo it for the day after though...Hosted smack dab in the middle of Sheffield town centre at the Devonshire Cat, we're lucky enough to have a menu of 200 bottled and draught beers with not even a sniff of Carling in sight so our continental visitors need not worry! Oh yeah, and food until 9. Speaking of which, we're flattered to announce two of the best names in the business alongside myself, Mik Parry and Gav Arno who will be assisting us in playing THE WORLDS BEST MUSIC for your drinking, dancing and all round getting twatted pleasure. Completely free of charge with no ticket required.
  2. Continuing our night of 1950's and 60's rhythm and blues in Sheffield's thriving calendar. Alongside myself I will be DJing with two Sheffield legends, Tim Jessop and Joel White displaying their unique tastes and influences on the very best that soul, jazz, blues and rhythm and blues can offer. On original vinyl of course. This month's will feature, all the way from sunny Southend, blues and mod DJ regular Mr Lewis Mudford spinning the best in deep and dirty Chicago Blues. A great compliment to Tim's impeccable selections. We will be hosting at the legendary Frog and Parrot pub in the heart of Sheffield which has seen a host of top musical stars popping in for a pint and even playing. Look forward to seeing you all there.
  3. Larry Hall - Rebel Heart

On Strand - White Label copy and VG. Plays well and suitable as a DJ copy. £40. Free UK Postage. Clip is actual copy.
  4. Which version ? Joshua fit in the battle of Jericho'

Just spotted this, seems to go down a storm still, shakes up a set every time!
  5. Best intro?

Lou Rawls - Dead End Street. Perfection in opening up a record to burst into organismic perfection
  6. who will replace us?

As long as there's cool people out there and still cool records to find the scene will thrive. There's a million and one events on in any town all over the UK so it might just be that the youth contingency is spread a bit thin?

Look forward to coming here, heard nothing but great things. Thanks for sharing my playlists too by the way, Andy B!
  10. Johnny Jungletree - Old New Orleans

Still looking for one? I know a seller with one for £40 if interested
  11. JOHNNIE TAYLOR WHO'S MAKING LOVE

Are you looking for the UK copy or the US copy for comparison? I've only got a US version but it's mixed with the bass cranked right up. I also wonder if there's an instrumental version out there (heard in a club scene in the film Gangster No 1) too.
  12. Paying for your guest DJs?

Haha that's a fair point, although I did start collecting before I was ever invited to play records (like us all, noone buys records, hopefully, with the explicit intention to become a DJ) at places anyway, and probably would have done regardless.
  13. Ever been refused a sale?

I'm sure I can't be alone in having won a record on eBay for a reasonable sum, only to be refunded straight away with the seller claiming 'it's worth more than that now'...
  14. Any social or music scene, regardless of whether it's attendance is from the youngsters or older goers, should retain whatever gives that particular scene integrity shouldn't it? In this particular case, hearing original vinyl and having records always to be ...
  15. Paying for your guest DJs?

Personally I'm happy to pay for travel and hotels etc to come up to dance and have a good time, not sure why it should be any different when bringing a record box up with me too. Although obviously the former would've been a night I was going to go to anyway....
