  1. The event is no postponed and will be rescheduled for later in the year.
  2. Trains depart Wigan North Western between 8pm and 8:30pm on the day heading back out to Manchester, Liverpool and Preston. Other local services are available covering Blackpool, Newton le Willows etc.
  3. ****EVENT IS NOW POSTPONED DUE TO THE CORONA VIRUS**** Something new and a little different for the Wigan Soul scene. The Cherry Pit is Wigan's ONLY basement style/60's Rhythm and Soul Club. We are not a 'traditional' Northern Soul event, instead our focus will be the 60s pre-ballroom all nighter era, along the lines of the world famous Twisted Wheel and Sink Soul clubs (we will NEVER clash with those event dates) Music is drawn from The Scene, The Flamingo, Twisted Wheel, The Sink, The Hideaway Club, good old Golborne Catholic club in its late 90s/00s heyday and the Rhythm and Blues 'pantry' down the secret corridor at Lowton Civic Hall back in the day. Soul, Motown, 6ts, R'n'B, beat, hammond and Ska - all on glorious, original issue vinyl OBVIOUSLY. The debut event on Sunday 5th April sees geust DJs JORDAN WILSON and PETE EVERETT joining resident Cherry Pickers - Neil and Phil Brown and Peter Smith. 3 - 8pm at The Boulevard, Wallgate Wigan (WN1 1LD) A full time, professional music venue right in the heart of Wigan Town centre, literally a one minute walk away from Wigan North Western and Wigan Wallgate train stations. £3 on the door.
  4. Debut night in an INCREDIBLE venue!
Our 2nd visit after being made very welcome last month. More of the same this time round, friendly, relaxed music policy and plenty of people dancing all night. Keeping a regular night going for TWENTY YEARS is an incredible achievement
  5. My 1st ever soul night! - my Dad took me to the closing down night (1 of many!) In 98/99 when I was 15. Since then it was always the highlight of the month - even had my wedding reception there! I was a regular between 2000 and 2004/5ish when the place was REALLY booming with 3 rooms (including the Rhythm and Blues pantry right down the corridor) I've always gone back whenever I can. The place will hold memories for me, my Brother Phil, Dad David and his Brother Ian forever. No Golborne Catholic Club, no Lowton Civic Hall....sadly it may soon actually be over for me
