  1. Sam & Dave still available but Flaming Emeralds was never listed?
  2. No Sam it flew out, must have been a bit too cheap! Cheers.......... Pete
  3. 27 classic 60s, 70s & RnB up for grabs conservatively graded M- / VG++ / VG+ / VG / VG- / G+ / G. Prices are in GBP and offered as both PayPal friends & family and PayPal goods & services (which is 4% higher). PayPal address is northernsoulman@iinet.net.au. Orders of 2 or more will attract a 10% discount on the combined record prices. Please send PM to reserve, payment expected within 24 hours. Shipping is from Spain and will be charged as follows… 1 - 4 records within Spain = £2.50; 1 - 2 singles to Europe or UK = £6; 3 - 4 singles to Europe or UK = £7; 1 - 4 singles to rest of world = £13.50. Other services such as registered, tracking, insurance or signature on delivery will be charged at cost. USA buyers must use registered or higher regardless of value. Unlikely anyone will be unsatisfied but if they are a no-quibble refund is available with the buyer paying return shipping costs. Happy hunting….. 1) SAM & DAVE – LOTTA LOVIN’ – ALSTON – £150/£156 – VG+ Banging RnB and their rarest by some distance from 1964 2) JEFF PERRY – LOVE DON’T COME NO STRONGER – ARISTA – £35/£36.40 - VG Bit of a grubby label on this 70s anthem 3) MARVIN HOLMES & JUSTICE – YOU BETTER KEEP HER – BROWN DOOR – £50/£52 – M- Never bootlegged but issued twice in 1974. This is the flat edged styrene version with no noticeable sound quality issues. 4) MARVIN SMITH – HAVE MORE TIME – BRUNSWICK – £40/£41.60 – M- Glorious example apart from the tiny label tear pictured 5) DEE CLARK – THAT’S MY GIRL – CONSTELLATION – £125/£130 – VG++ Floorpacker everywhere in virtually mint minus on the desirable “stars” label variation 6) DANNY WOODS – YOU HAD ME FOOLED – CORREC-TONE – £200/£208 – G+ Bad news first: it looks awful and is scratched all over. Good news: the scratches are not feelable, the background noise is largely drowned out once Danny gets going, I’ve DJ’d with it without any dramas on numerous occasions and it’s less than half price 7) PRECISIONS – IF THIS IS LOVE (I’D RATHER BE LONELY) – DREW - £60/£62.40 – VG++ Every NS home needs one 8 CONTOURS – JUST A LITTLE UNDERSTANDING – GORDY – £20/£20.80 – V Classic Motown, say no more 9) ROSCO GORDON – JESSIE JAMES – JOMADA – £25/£26 – M- Pristine white demo with the same song on both sides 10) SHIRLEY WAHLS – THAT’S HOW LONG (I’M GONNA LOVE YOU) – KING – £100/£104 – VG+ Bonus of the equally sought after beat ballad “Why Am I Crying” on the flip 11) DOROTHY BERRY & JIMMY NORMAN – I’M WITH YOU ALL THE WAY – LITTLE STAR – £50/£52 – VG++ Rockin’ RnB that works in either room (apart from the modern one!) 12) LOVELITES – GET IT OFF MY CONSCIENCE – LOVE LITE – £150/£156 – VG+ Mecca & Casino monster in top nick but with some slight label wear 13) DON COVAY – IT’S BETTER TO HAVE (AND DON’T NEED) – MERCURY – £20/£20.80 – VG++ Youth club favourite a smidgeon off mint minus 14) VIBRATING VIBRATIONS – SURPRISE PARTY FOR BABY – NEPTUNE – £110/£114.40 – M- Not mint because I’ve played it a few times but about as close as you’ll find 15) LEAH DAWSON – YOU GOT TO CHANGE (YOUR EVIL WAYS) – OKEH – £300/£312 – VG+ Chances are this will be a gap in the Okeh label completists’ run. Very rare issue, loads of demos on Popsike but none of these 16) SERVICEMEN – I NEED A HELPING HAND – PATHEWAY – £50/£52 – VG+ Lookalike 70s pressing with the raised ridge. This one has fooled a few people in its time. 17) FANTASTIC JOHNNY C – DON’T DEPEND ON ME – PHIL LA OF SOUL – £25/£26 – VG++ Barely a mark, most would be grading this mint minus 18) LIFE – TELL ME WHY – REPRISE – £150/£156 – M- Another Mecca & Casino favourite on a beautiful white demo 19) FRANK BEVERLY & THE BUTLERS – IF THAT’S WHAT YOU WANTED – SASSY – £475/£494 – VG++ Couldn’t decide whether to grade this mint minus so erred on the side of caution. Suffice to say it’s a beautiful copy of this timeless classic with “Love (Your Pain Goes Deep)” on the flip. 20) DOOLEY SILVERSPOON – GAME PLAYERS – SEVILLE – £25/£26 – VG++ Rarer 4-prong demo variation 21) RUFUS THOMAS – THE MEMPHIS TRAIN – STAX – £30/£31.20 – M- Bit of water damage to the label, otherwise a top copy 22) STEVIE WONDER – NOTHING’S TOO GOOD FOR MY BABY – TAMLA – £15/£15.60 – VG+ A bit of damage to the inner ring of the vinyl as shown 23) BOB RELF – BLOWING MY MIND TO PIECES – TRANS-AMERICAN – £160/£166.40 – VG++ A quick scroll through Popsike shows that this yellow issue variation is considerably scarcer than the orange issues and its condition is close to mint minus. Don’t forget the superb flip “Girl, Your My Kind Of Wonderful”, also getting regular spins. 24) FRANKIE (LOVE MAN) CROCKER – TON OF DYNAMITE – TURBO – £50/£52 – VG+ Again very conservatively graded copy of this legally reissued dancefloor destroyer 25) SYL JOHNSON – LET THEM HANG HIGH – TWINIGHT – £20/£20.80 – VG Flip side of his classic “Is It Because I’m Black” and in desperate need of some exposure 26) WYNDER K FROG – GREEN DOOR – UNITED ARTISTS – £30/£31.20 – M- A minty looking copy of this manic Casino instrumental 27) SUPERLATIVES – I STILL LOVE YOU – UPTITE – £200/£208 – VG++ Definite original of this Torch monster a shade off mint minus

  11. Here's one for collectors and/or DJs who prefer the rarest format of a 45 release. This one is hard enough to acquire on the issue but when did you last see a red & white demo? I'll not go on about unicorns or holy grails but suffice to say it's never been on Popsike, it's not catalogued on 45Cat and it's only on Discogs because I uploaded this very copy. I would grade the condition somewhere between a 6 or 7/10, the playing surfaces are superficially scratched but fidelity on playback is still high, no problem whatsoever for DJing. I'm going overseas for a week so I'll be accepting offers by PM until 5th September. I have a minimum in mind but I reserve the right to accept any offer at any time. Shipping will be from Spain and I'll be insisting on tracking and insurance otherwise non-delivery, damage or loss will be to the buyer's account. If the buyer is not happy with what they receive for any reason, I'll provide a full refund. I'll inform bidders only on the progress of their offers. Cheers..........Pete
  12. Wanted - at least VG+ copy of "I Can't Get Away" on Satellite.... cash waiting Cheers........Pete
  13. Nice shiny M- condition on this quartet of popular UK release soul. Very faint storage marks only and, knowing their history, I would be surprised if the Gladys Knight 45 has ever seen a needle. Payment in Euros via PayPal friends & family please (petefowler58@gmail.com). Shipping is from Spain so if you're in UK/EU add EUR 7 for regular airmail and EUR 10 if tracking is required. Any other destinations or multiples will be at cost TBA. Will return if you're not satisfied but this has never been necessary. 1) Gladys Knight & The Pips - No One Could Love You More - TMG 864 - NM - EUR 120 2) Inez Foxx - Hurt By Love - Sue 323 - NM - EUR 20 3) Ike & Tina Turner - River Deep Mountain High - London HLU 10242 - NM - EUR 5 4) Show Stoppers - Ain't Nothing But A House Party - Beacon 100 - NM - EUR 10 I'll you buy GK and IF I'll chuck the other 2 in for free, ie EUR 140 the lot plus postage. Cheers...............Pete
