Update from HQ......Most of the ticket allocation has sold out. You can pay on the door up to 3am, but the venue do have the right to refuse entry if we are at capacity....here's to a great night.

And if your travelling by car through the Staffs/Cheshire lock onto SIGNAL 2 (1170am & DAB)a power packed soundtrack to get you in the mood.

magnificent stoke as always!....just like a returning friend....the dancefloor buzz is something that cannot be avoided. if it was possible to be in both rooms at the same time, spoiled for choice would be an understatement!. a huge debt of appreciation to kev & sam yet again for getting this thing on and the enthusiasm of all the dj's concerned...exactly what makes this place the magnet it is....unfortunately there are some serious pie scoffers in attendance now as by 10pm you'd got more chance of buying a margaret little than a wright's delicacy!!

on everybody's behalf, can i say well done to SOUL SAM for being there, no small feat at all considering what he has been through and is still dealing with, showing bravery & fortitude....he is a true icon of the scene and really was cherished last night, delivering the good in spades...we're going to get many more years out of him yet!!

Brilliant night! Was jam packed until 3am, when it thinned out nicely but still had a full dance floor up to when I left at 5.30 (for work!) anyway great tunes, great dancers and thanks to the ladies who watched my bag under their chairs on the left side while I danced. Met some lovely people as always. Love this place.

Was great to see lots of old faces :)

We loaded the car and set off down the M62 with much excitement Stoke bound , even the Sat Nav resembled one of those Casino Classic albums , dark sky , crescent moon , all that was missing was the night owl . Sounds were thumping adding to the ambiance of the adventure that lay ahead.

We arrived at Kings Hall and noticed a massive queue had already formed waiting to be let in . The drum intro of Smokeys " going to go go" was thumping out of the speakers which helped to build the anticipation . We proceeded to the door and gained entrance as Nige was playing early on we had go ahead of them . This never sits easy with Nige being the type of person he is he would prefer to enter modestly. The perk of this privilege is you can watch them all run it and witness everyone's excitement in getting the best space and then hitting the floor.

We stayed in the main room around three hours watching young legs effortlessly glide to an uptempo beat along with older souls that had to temper their enthusiasm with caution in order to last the night. We ventured into the rare room from 11 and stayed for the duration to 4am,  Nothing prepared me for the pleasure of hearing so many great tunes in this room . Watching Soul Sam's love of play and his excitement in introducing his new acquisitions to us , he had the Wind in his sails last night and he was climbing dizzy heights to the skies above with sheer pleasure.

Cliff Steele followed who also delivered some great tunes , and then Keith Money. I have never seen Keith play before  .... what can I say this for me was the set of the night , he played James Knight and the Butlers ! There goes my baby which was fab to hear out . I had only heard it in my itunes library wishing and hoping that some day someone would have it and play it . He also played another fave of mine in a back to back twosome by Robert Tanner ... tell me your name , and those around me responded to it so well , just like me they felt the tune as they danced. He played many that were in my dream team , sapped much of my energy which didn't leave much for Ted , who I knew would also come on with full guns blazing.

Ted came on and we all played a little joke on him , we had massed a collection of ties to make him feel at home knowing his love of them ... we all put the ties on in front of him and danced , his reaction was brilliant.  Ted you need to tell what the delicious tune was after the Proffs remember I asked you what it was ( orange label).. sounded a bit like Barbara English why weren't you there in the backing.

My feet today are in agony , I wish I could unscrew them and stick them in a bowl of water for the entire day .

Great to see so many mates there and chat with a few and also dance along side many like minded people feeling the vibe   .... the event gave us everything and more last night , nice to see Brian 45 philips still cutting it in the rare room  .. I do hope your mate found some food :) he was very very hungry lol

And Nige put in the perfect 10 o'clock spot. What was required , when it was required . Understated excellence . We had a great night. Nowhere quite like Stoke.

Too true Geoff, danced my socks off until we left at 3.30am with my legs cramping up and little movement left in them.Even ventured into the "OTHER ROOM" made the acquaintance of Claire Dumfries/London  and of the foot ware " Doc Martin" firm. The highlight of my short visit though was the double dancing not double decking of Sam Evans and Julie H,Julie coming off the decks to dance to one of her own records with Sam,two ladies doing what they like doing and thoroughly enjoying themselves. As Geoff states above "there's nowhere quite like Stoke" a full house with no POLITICS (vest and baggies man) will let the usual suspects who probable weren't there make their derogatory comments about "dress code" but I for one will be there again with the hundreds,DANCING and ENJOYING the MUSIC and CAMARADERIE that Kings Hall delivers.

Alan.

PS:The M & Ms and Tosh thoroughly enjoyed it too.

Loved it, great spots by all the DJs,

Best 2 for me personally were Nige & John poole, a lot of underplayed records heard for the first time at stoke.

got to be the venue of all venues, always enjoy Kings hall.

Roll on December.

Been a bit low this year with few health issues and bad luck keeping me away from a lot of events. On the waiting list for a bit of minor surgery, but i have done Stoke at least twice a year every year so just had to get to one this year.So off i went with a big bandage strapped round my stomach and a few pain killers ratling inside it.I loved it as usual and managed to dance a lot more than i thought carried through by the Stoke effect, and lasted till 5.00 AM.Best period of the night for me was Mick H and Andy Dyson.Talked to loads of great people and had a laugh along the way.Musically i personally fall between the two camps and love to hear underplayed stuff probably more than the standard oldies. My best time on the scene was the 80s and 90s and my musical tastes and the way i dress reflects that. But i love nothing more than to indulge myself in an adrenelyn fuelled mix of Casino, wheel, Mecca, and Torch oldies out on the floor with people from all over the country. The thing that always drags be back to Stoke is the unbeatable atmosphere, its always had it since it first started some 16 years ago and the place lifted my spirits at a time i needed it

Top notch as usual ...paced myself and managed 9-45pm till 6-15am... Phew!!

Great spots by all the DJ`s but Mick H, Andy Dyson and John Poole played three long and grueling hours(dance wise) of absoloute top drawer oldies that made the night just that little bit extra special, so a big thanks to those guys..
