About time too :-)

The Adlib Lincoln will be playing some British RnB courtesy of Andrew and Eileen Vaisey who are superb DJ's and very commendable too.We here at the Spa have from the first promoted Brit RnB ;early Rolling Stones,Spencer Davis,Helen Shapiro,Georgie Fame to name just a few long may it continue. Its a sorry story that the scene ignores the artists who gave British audiences their first hearing of this great music.Without the Mod/Blues/RnB scene of the 50's and 60's there would be no "northern" scene period !
Here's my playlist from London recently, all original and been playing these out for over a couple of years now,
there are a few of us flying the flag, keep up the good work.
The Who - In the City - Reaction
The Mark Four - Work all Day - Fontana
The Creation - Making Time - Planet
The Creation - Biff Bang Pow - Planet
Bo Street Runners - Bo Street Runner - Decca
The Birds - Next in Line - Decca
The Birds - No good Without You - Decca
The Zephyrs - She's Lost You - Capital
The Beat Merchants - So Fine - Tower
The Yardbirds - heart full of Soul - Columbia
The Mojo's - Give your lovin' to me - Decca
The Mojo's - They Say - Decca
Tony Jackson - Watch your step - Pye
The Kinks - Long tall sally - Cameo
The Kinks - Long tall shorty - Pye
The Yardbirds - Good morning little schoolgirl - Columbia
The Sons of Fred - baby what do you want me to do - Parlophone
Zoot Money - The Uncle Willie - Decca
Excellent Dekka !Apparently the Birds (Ronnie Wood and co)were billed as the "..best British RnB band" !?Some rae stuff there !

Yeah the Birds had to change into 'The Birds Birds' after the arrival of the American version 'The Byrds' such a shame they never made it to stardom as of many other of the obscure British beat bands of the early 6T's.
See you at ad-lib in april, not seen you both in a while, hope to make it down to the Spa at some point, lovely to see the early british stuff get the recognition it deserves, like you say, without them, there would never be any Northern Soul
