Nights starting to draw in and cooler by Friday...Just right for some dancin and weekend shenanigans at The Courtyard :D

Not been out since Saturday so looking forward to this and be great to see/hear local maestro Dave Vanner in action again  (that's meant as a compliment Dave and by no means comparing you to the not quite so great Austin Maestro compact hatchback car produced by British Leyland between '83-95) No offence to anyone who turns up in one on Friday by the way!

See you there, Steve.

Terrible car Steve! The only thing any good about it was the gearbox which was Volkswagen! but BL cocked that up using their linkage! Welcome to the new section on Soul Source....Jem's Soulful car reviews :hatsoff2: ....See you Friday mate, over 80 and counting reserved already so hopefully should be busy.

Great night at The Courtyard....thanks to everyone who came along! Filled up pretty quickly and always encouraging when people want to dance from the off. Really enjoyed playing some classic Northern and a few other things for a couple of hours, but even better to hear what Jem and Dave Vanner chose to play in their spots and such great choices really well received by a great crowd in. Loads of underplayed oldies alongside some regulars I can never tire of hearing. Brilliant reaction from the room for the late great Bobby Womack and "So many sides of you" in the middle of some classic Northern, hopefully he was looking down with a wide smile of satisfaction there. Well done Jem for promoting and getting everyone together for a top night and glad you enjoyed yourself after the day you had. Sorry you couldn't make it along Len and lots of people asking after you as you'd expect mate! Cheers all and maybe see some of you at The Sunday Soul Sessions this Sunday night in Kettering, to end the weekend on a high hopefully! Steve.

Hi Steve,

Yes apologies for not making this event folkz - I had forgotten I was supposed to take the family on holiday! :D

So glad it went well, it looks like we have more events here at The Court Yard to look forward to in the future. A perfect venue I would say, and as you touched upon Steve, a venue that suits for playing all kinds of Soul Music (As we did at The Pemberton Centre events) - I'll look forward to playing some 'Lenny Lullaby's' there some time soon

All the best,

Len
