It’s Soul time in the heart of the Ribble Valley!

The picturesque market town of Clitheroe hosts regular Northern Soul events at St Michael and St John's Social Centre, Lowergate, BB1 7AG on various Saturday and Sunday dates throughout the year. We play a great mix of Northern Soul, Soul and Motown music, which is sure to get you dancing. The next event is on Sunday 12th July, 3 to 8pm, so please visit Facebook and type in Clitheroe Sunday Soul Club’ for more details.

There is a pay and display car park on Lowergate car park (which is free on Sunday) right across from the venue. Or if you come by train, it’s a short 10-minute walk through the town centre. Clitheroe is a delightful town with numerous individual shops, restaurants and cafes to visit before you join us. The historic 900-year-old castle dominates the skyline, well worth the short climb to the battlements, and has an open-view café in the AtriumThere are numerous places to eat and relax or, if you are short of time, visit Megabites on Moor Lane, which has a delicious array of take-away food and drinks. If you visit the town on a Saturday, pop into the ‘A little bit of Soul shop’ at 103 Whalley RdBB7 1EE, where you find a wealth of Soul, Motown and Jazz memorabilia, or call in at Dapper on Moor Lane, to buy the latest in men’s Mod style clothing.

The soul events are great fun, very friendly, and attract people of all ages. So, whether you are familiar with the music or completely new to the scene, you will be most welcome. For further details on both the ocasional Saturday and regular Sunday events, contact Neil  07914 831 420 or neangr@yahoo.co.uk
