A good night at the Shooting Star; but the news that refurbishment of the room that SHS uses may herald the end of the club was not so good. SHS provides a night that gets away from too much of the tried and tested classic oldies, if it does close the choice is even more limited. Some classics were played, e.g. Kelly Garrett which I requested, but I don't hear it out that often. Anyway, let's hope for the best and that the club continues.

It was good to see Martin Ainscough, Rbman, out and about, first time I've seen him for a very long time. And good to see other friends too.

Thanks to Des, Dave and Shane for some good music.

Fully agree with Geoff.

Lets see what the meeting with the brewers produces this week.  But on leaving on Friday night it was clear what the Shooting Star is competing with; the pubs on Bishopsgate were still packed to the rafters at 12.45.  I know its set back from the main road, and indeed you probably don't see it unless you are looking for it, but Fullers must be thinking they can get a piece of that 'City crowd on the piss night out' revenue.

Great sets from Shane, Des and Dave.  As always...

Let us know how you get on Dave.

Best wishes
