One of the few 60s basement clubs remaining in the North West of England, the Sink Soul Club takes place on a bi-monthly basis to keep it special and retains the unique music policy that helps it to stand out from the crowd.

Our summer special alldayer on Sunday 21st August runs from 3pm--11pm and is just £5 entry, it's going to be rather good so get yourselves along for some soul in the heart of the city!

Hi Stan, is there any 'free' Sunday parking near to venue? or suggest anywhere to park. I attended years ago and not been since for no other reason that I did not know this event was still on. I have to admit at the time I visited it was one of the best venues ever. My name is Graham (Herby) Hibbert from Sale good friend of Ian Dunning. I founded and was one of the dj's at The 'Oakfield Club' in Sale way back in 98 along with Les Hare, Greg Osborn, and sadly the late Malcom Owens. Kindest Regards.

Hi Herby, Stan isn't on here (bit of a technophobe!) so me and Dennis post the stuff online. I don't think there's any free parking, I think you have to pay till 6pm but after that it is free.

There are plenty of car parks locally to the Sink, I'll check with a couple of people which are most convenient and post back on here. If I can find anything free I'll let you know.

Thanks for your interest, I'll let Stan know you've been in touch--hope you can make it on the 21st as its a great Sunday afternoon event and gets really busy. Cheers.

Hi Tony, many thanks for the quick response and advice. It did not occur to me parking on the road on meters. This is because here in Manchester we get ripped-off even on a Sunday where meters are charged up to 8pm. I will do just that and park on meter to run until 6. Very much looking forward to the afternoon/evening. Thanks and Best regards. Graham.

Hi Graham, I've just had it confirmed that parking is £2.20 per hour until 6pm and then it's free. I dont know if there are any cheaper car parks locally, if I hear anything I'll post on here.

Looking like it's going to be a good afternoon/evening at the Sink, plenty of interest so far. See you there! :thumbsup:

Hi Graham & Tony,

I've copied this lot over from the posts I made on the Sink home page on Facebook;

Just off Renshaw Street, at the bottom of Leece Street, which is a continuation of Hardman Street, on which the Sink is at the top near the Philharmonic Hall, there is Heathfield Street (L1 4AT) Secure Parking. Here is a link to the website for charges and opening hours, which as you will see, is 24 hours;

http://www.secure-parking.co.uk/.../32-liverpool-central/

ALSO

You can also park on the Liverpool University car park on Mount Pleasant (L3 5TQ). A 5 minute walk from the Sink adjacent to the Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral.
Here's a link for times and charges.
https://www.liverpool.ac.uk/fac.../services/vehicle-parking/

and a link to the car park on Google Maps;

Five DJs, eight hours of music, an original 60s basement club, and a music policy to match--nowhere can compare to the Sink Soul Club on Sunday 21st August! :thumbup:

Hi Tony, I really do hope that you get this mail. I hope that the afternoon went down well and was busy. I could not make it due to 'shingles' virus on one side of my face and neck. Extremely painful and never had it before. Please pass-on my apologies to Stan and Dennis. I would liked to have met both yourself Tony and Dennis, and Stan I have not seen in years. I will definitely make your next instalment. All the best. Graham Hibbert (Oakfield Club Sale)
