Hi everyone, 

I am currently in rehearsals for a play about the north of England in the 1980s and northern soul is heavily featured. I've been involved in the soul scene since I was young thanks to my dad but a lot of the cast have never come across it before. Is it worth coming along for the night as I know it's mostly rare records and the stuff we are using is all the hits.

It's definitely worth your while. I'm sure it will be an education for you on the night and the 100 Club does always chuck in a few "classics" to prove it's not totally all about the rarest sounds. The Norfolk crowd will be near the dance floor to the right of the stage. Come and say hello.

          the 100 club has always had a focus on quality tunes that covers Soul  Oldies tunes too. Basically people enjoying the music. Some of us meet up in the Blue Posts Pub around the corner on Newman street before the doors open. Come along and take a look, its a great nighter , hence its been running successfully for so many years.

I agree with the above posts, I think it well worth your while coming down. As your play is about the 80's I'd say The 100 Club influence would be a good inclusion to your project - The 100 Club being a place that some of the people from the north of England would have visited during that time.

Steve merchant came down before Cemetery Junction and stayed a good few hours 

Lonnnnng time overdue for me to give this famous club a try, great line up, looking forward to it, even with the challenge of Len no doubt nattering away there and back when I'm trying to nap on the train...hopefully play those few records I like dancing to even if no one else does 

Can't wait for tonight! Gonna be a good'un

Great review by Geoff and an excellent night i thought with great music by Pat,Sam, Kev and Len. I thought Matt picked a really clever great selection of jocks to cover the varying sounds we are now used to.

Atmosphere was great and as mentioned a nice full dancefloor 90% of the time.

Word on the ground seemed to be people really enjoying themselves so hopefully ady, butch, keith and the lads can feel confident Matty is on top of looking after our favourite place. No mean feat of course.

Ps - records were sonny jones on scram and emanons 'bird walkin' - happy to have a bari track if anyone wants to donate :):)

Many thanks to Matty for ask me to be part of the line up at this iconic nighter again. The night just flew over,always a good sign.

ps... Bari Track made it safely back up north. :-)

We had a great time at The 100 Club last Saturday; I really enjoyed all the different styles of music played - As Geoff pointed out, each style complimenting another (I’ve always been a fan of all styles in the one room)

The evening had a fun ‘home alone’ feel being as the grownups (Ady and Butch) weren’t there  As pat said, the night flew by!
