Well hello there my lovelies I have finally managed to get back on here how much have you all missed me ... I'm guessing LOADS ...

Thought I had better post up something on here (as its the only place to be read lol) in regards to a temporary change within New Century Soul due to circumstance out of our control Chris is having to take a "step back" from Promoting NCS, that's the downer the UPPER is I will be taking on his "ROLE" as well as my own "The Hostess with the MOSTEST"

Luckily Co-Promoter Andy Dyson will still be there being my ever "punching bag" oh as well as being a pretty good DJ ....

I am not sure if people are aware that the Kenwood Suite "Underplayed Cuts" is organised and managed by Simon Ingham with his bunch of Merry Men

And the Modern Room "Uptempo Soul Music" is organised and managed by Baz Maleedy and his bunch of Merry Men ....

So I'm guessing that makes me "Maid Marion" managing The Hall :D and with Andy Garside by my side as my "Friar Tuck" (we cant go wrong )

WOW just realised between us we will have over about 200 years of experience of the Scene and each one of us will be bringing our "experiences, knowledge (mine WONT be records ) passion, enthusiasm ect to giving you what you want a GREAT NIGHT OUT ... aint rocket science is it ?

So here's to us .... a mixed bag of people making up a great "Collective of Promoters"

Oh nearly, but didn't forget to mention it will 205 years as alongside all the "old folk" we have NCS Promoter in Training and Resident DJ "Young Gun" Calvin Lee Hughes

Ok I think that about covers it,  any questions .... phone a friend

hi Marcelle

just seen your q's bit pushed so will do a very rushed reply to your q's

the +/- are just a rep/like thing

if you like something you read or just want to show some thanks etc just + it

yep we can't allow mp3 uploads or streaming cause of copyright issues

the best bet is to upload on youtube/mixcloud/soundcloud etc then can share it to here and elsewhere via simply posting a link and the site will embedd

With not all that many sleep to the NCS Bury All Nighter it's time to share some of the potential spins methinks!

In the Kenwood Suite we're trying hard to put a different spin on things and play rare and/or underplayed sounds (across the board)........mixed in with that you'll still hear some classic allniter tunes, so hopefully there's something for everyone!

***DISCLAIMER*** Rare and/or underplayed doesn't necessarily mean expensive and unobtainable; in fact we believe there's a treasure chest of Northern overlooked because it doesn't necessarily push the ££££££ button. Here's one that fits the bill (IMHO) - of course it's all personal and that's what brilliant about our beloved scene :o)

Great track Simon, gutted to have missed her at the band on the wall recently and yeah totally agree, some great cheapies out there as well as the "big ticket" numbers. Looking forward to playing in the Kenwood Suite

You've rumbled us mate

We've had him under wraps in disguise- the real Bob Hinsley is being held captive in a gimp mask by a long time admirer and stalker. Hoping to secure his release via cash and trades soon 😎

Although Mo told us not to rush?

BIG SCOTTY AT THE BURY ALLNITER!!

Wow – I thought it was a one-off event getting Shifty out to DJ at Bury, but now you’ve pulled it off again with Big Scotty. Haven’t seen him behind the decks for many a year and it’ll be great to see what he has in store.

Nice one boys - Can’t wait for the 25thMarch.

A recent acquisition and very probably a spin for Bob upstairs in the Kenwood Suite - we're honoured to have him as a resident (although Robbo says we should ditch him lol)

Really looking forward to Bury Town Hall, fast becoming one of my fave nighters.........I'll rephrase that, it IS my FAVE nighter.   Great atmosphere, superb dance floor. I spend the majority of the night in the Kenwood Suite, (my kinda music) :hatsoff2: but also love the main room and will be spending some time in there as my mate Tony Mac is on so deffo won't be missing his spot. (Hope he's not on same time as Keith Williams)? :g:  It's also his birthday on the 25th so.....party time!!!   My sisters are still over from NZ, they thoroughly enjoyed the last one, cant come soon enough!!

It seems the promoters of another all - nighter don't like the way we are promoting our event, seemingly we are just posting things to make the thread look busy. Is it just me that thinks that is the whole point of promoting.

Hi Marcelle,

Further to the recent thread about entrance fees and OAP discounts, can I bring a tenner on Saturday? Big Bruce from London will be in attendance but he's not old enough for a discount!

Hope you and Chris are both well.

Cheers

Julian

Hi AndyG,

Ref a busy thread - We all know that the amount of posts / views on a thread does not necessarily equate to how many attend an event. I've seen over 7000 views on a thread in the past (Attendance equating to around 300 on that one)

Personally, I like to see a busy thread, as long as it gives me an insight to what the event is about / what tunes to expect etc, especially as I'm not on other social media (Discussion is what the events threads are there for)

There's 3 All-nighters on this particular date - I hope they are all nice and busy (I'm sure they will be)

All the best,

Len

Hi guys another "pointless question" for Lenny Luddites apprentice (oh that will be me )

I know Mike has explained how to share music from YouTube but I cant do it  :dash2:when it says share "it doesn't have Soul Source" on there to share :g:

do I have to "copy and paste the link" or something else ?

Oh and WHIP WOOOOOOOOO two more sleeps then no sleeps as its PARTY at Bury

Hi Marcelle,

You need to 'cut 'n' paste' - Get a tune up on You Tube, 'cut' the bit in the bar at the top of the page (the link - well done) :D Then just 'paste' it on to your post on here - 'Ping' it's on!

Like this -
