  1. Interesting , I bought a copy at Witchurch in 76 when my mate Colin Dilnot and I were seeking out 'mel britt' type records, bought blind, along with Moses Smith ,Donny Burks and Oscar Perry on Mercury. It ended up with Colin who was invited on Richard's Red Rose show ,he could have played it on there ,I know he took his prized Marvin Holmes lp with him the alternate version of YBKH it caused a stir.
  2. Colin has not been active on the scene for a good few tears now , he has a facebook account in his name but again. seldom posts, I'm sure you're aware of his 'In Dangerous Rhythm' blog . https://indangerousrhythm.blogspot.com/2007/02/johnny-brantley-productions-update.html No he's not added to the blog , Its quite possible he might have been to the Sink , I've had no contact with him since we went to an early Tuff Love do at the Buyers Club

  4. The essay that was reproduced in one of the early Goldmine cds, written by Dave Evison , I think , that covered a lot of examples of mod/northern soul life . It contained lines like 'It was Cadburys Aztec bars , penny chew s' mention of the Twisted Bicycle wheel and bowling shoes.
  5. You might see the double sided demo of this ,but the issue with this wonderful piece of music is rare as hen's teeth
  6. might as well make it 3 in a row with this beaut-I'm reminded what Sam said when asked what his favorite modern soul tune was he answered 'the one I haven't heard yet'
  7. and another that doesn't hit the sales lists these days perhaps the guitar solo is a bit to white for we soul boys
  8. Plenty of re-issues around but the 1976 original is super elusive
  9. Sometimes a reissue will open the record up to a wider audience and increase demand (+ price )
  10. those rare ones usually have the most obscure group names /titles
  11. This sublime piece of modern/crossover soul never comes up for sale
