    After 6 long years, we are pleased to announce the return of The Nu Beat Club. The very best in Rare 60's Ska, Rocksteady, Reggae and Soul all played on original vinyl. Resident DJ Paul Welsby is joined by special Guest Selectors Mr Mass Centi and Mistah Flood. The venue is Retro, 78 Sackville Street, City Centre Manchester M1 3NJ. Entry is £6 on the door. There is some on street parking nearby or a pay and display multi-story car park just round the corner on Charles Street.     Saturday 25 January 2020 sees the opening of a new club night in Darwen SHAKE YOUR HIPS Completely across the board playing everything from 50s R&B, through 60's Northern, Motown & Latin to 70s Crossover & Modern Soul with a touch of Ska & Bluebeat for good measure ! All on ORIGINAL VINYL Resident DJs Ronnie Brown, Stephen Ellison, Rob Glennon & Jimmy Noble are joined on this opening night by special guests PAUL WELSBY (Manchester's Hideaway Club & Nu Beat Club) and SOULMAN CLARENCE (Hollinwood's Top Twenty) The venue is Bridge Street Sports & Social Club, 27-33 Bridge Street, Darwen, Lancs BB3 2AA Doors open at 8.00pm and the night runs through to 1am. Entry is £5
  8. The first two nights were crackers - great music and well attended. Really looking forward to Friday night - its gonna be another big one. If you want to hear something away from the run of the mill soul nights - this is the place for you !

  15. Hi Kev It'll be good to see you there. On the question of timings, we thought it best for varietys sake if we work in 30 minute shifts - we feel that will keep it fresh throughout the whole night. So it will be Neil and myself alternating throughout the night, with Fred Kroll shoehorned in for two spots at 10pm and 11.30pm. Hope that makes sense Paul
