Twas the Night before Grooves Poem
Twas the night before Grooves, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
The records were organised and boxed with care,
In hopes that The Sisters would soon would be there!
The dancers were nestled all snug in their beds,
With visions of posh sweeties danced in their heads.
And mamma in her shift dress and I in my Fred Perry,
Had just settled our brains for a short power nap.
When out on the cobbles there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.
The moon was beaming on the Old Nags Head!
Gave the lustre of mid-day as to what maybe ahead ...
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a Lambretta and a Rally carrying the Sisters to town.
And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof
The sliding and shuffling of each little shoe!
As I drew in my head, and was turning around.
The Twisted Sisters were officially in town!
"Happy Twisted Grooves to all, and to you all a good-night!" Xx
