  3. Ive only ever had the more common black issue , that was kicking around in the odd small sales box for £20 - £30 and never much more tbh . . . it was a fair few years ago in all truth , and one I haven't seen around too often since . . . I thoroughly expected to "win" the W/D of Bazza for under £20 , because of the reasons we've mentioned . . . I was honestly gutted when my "tight" bid failed , because it was a nice copy . . . and its just ANOTHER one that got away , to add to my burgeoning list of failures . . .
  4. I reasoned that because M T was so underplayed , ( it was more of a great "semi-known" than clapped out oldie ) , and that's why NO-ONE was dancing to my "version" , but in reality I was just an ultra shit Dj . . . your topic may well now hopefully get it activated ( can't say re-activated in all truth . . . ?? ) . . . just YouTubed it and it sounds GREAT . . .
  5. I always thought the Maria Tynes should be played more , its great and very soulful . . . Barry Waddington auctioned the Uptown W/D a few weeks ago and it only fetched around £38 , which I though was very cheap , as I would rate it pretty tough , imho . . . I was being ultra mean that day , and ended as runner-up . . . served me right . . .
  6. That , I wouldn't know , I'm afraid . . . it's still got my 20 year+ c/up labels on , from when I was a wannabe . . . now I'm just aa , ( never ) , wassabe . . .
  7. I'm a registered Neanderthal , where technology is concerned I'm afraid , I don't possess a CD player or even a record deck , ( sad but TRUE ) . . . I just listen to YouTube , if I get "the urge" for owt . . . someone on here may know it and upload an mp3 , or whatever other form of up to date clever-dickery is currently available. . .
  8. No. No doubt someone on here will know its "identity" . . . its an odd one because I have 2 copies with the same release number , plus an acetate and they're all entirely different cuts . . .
  9. I bought a male vocal record as an "exclusive" , on a pretty obscure label , from Tim Brown over 20 years ago . . . it has exactly the same backing track , but entirely different lyrics , ( for obvious reasons . .!! ) , and like ALL of my records , got absolutely no dance floor reaction at "Lifeline" . . . I love it as much as the underplayed Maria T track , but am probably in a minority of one . . !!
  10. AL McCARTHER - HIS TRUE LOVE FOR YOU / IN THIS ROOM - TWO GUITARS (PICTURE LOGO) STAMPED ORIGINAL IN AT LEAST EXCELLENT CONDITION, (SMALL STICKER) £400 PLUS P AND P .
  11. I sold the copy you're referring to around 15 years ago Steve , been searching for it ever since , to no avail . . . . ( the buyer still has it , btw ) . . . I know of one other copy , and that's not for sale either . . .
  12. Absolutely gobsmacked . . . it's one I've had 3 or 4 times over the last 25 years . . . starting at £30 from Tim Brown's and peaking at £100 , again from Tims , all sold for a slight profit , as is the nature of the game .. . .its never been around in quantity , but all the said copies were pretty much mint condition too , ( doubt if it was the same one each time ..?? ) . . . looked in the collection , but the 'bird' had flown . . . it's a lovely record , but I bracketed it in the same category as The Whispers - You Got A Man On Your Hands and Shades of Jade - Why Does It Feel So Right . . . nice , easy on the ear records , but not dynamite . . er , the current price tells me I REALLY do know jack shit about this astounding scene we're on . . .( good luck to whoever's item it is , obviously said with a tinge of the green eyed monster ) , but I can't lose 'em all . . . thinking back to a few weeks ago . . . I just missed out on it off Steve Frost on this very site when I bought one of the above Dores , along with Sugar & Sweet off the same list . . it was £85 if memory serves ..?? Probably wrong again . . .

  14. Hi , Anyone know who the pair of vocalists are ..?? ( I use the term 'vocalist' VERY loosely where the female is concerned . . . she's absolutely terrible to my old ears . . .) That said . . . "I've Changed" on Audio Forty is one of my all-time favourite Northern tracks ( shows you just how bad my lugholes really are . .!! ) . . . I've just picked up their 1979 recording on Steam - Who Is The Fool parts 1 & 2 , purely because a well known dealer has it available for a pretty high price . . . their vocal talents have certainly not mellowed with age , her offering is again bloody dreadful imho. . . but I do find part 2 pretty catchy . . . to compound my utter lack of taste , I also have their R'n'B offering on Pep . . . luckily the music is so 'vibrant' that it almost drowns out their combined non-vocal talents . . .I don't know their other 'booked' "45's" on Foremost , Morton and S.S.J. . . . but I would imagine they're pretty dreadful too..??? . . . unless some kind 'soulie' tells me different . . ??? I'm simply curious to their identities and would be thankful for any help . . . I wouldn't unwittingly want to purchase any singles by either perpetrator , unless totally drunk . . . Cheers for looking . . .
