Looking clean but plays with some minor noise during intro, probably due to a bit of dirt in the grooves. Visual grade: VG+, minor warp NAP €160 The Four Um – What the world needs now / Day dreaming – Libra 701 Jazz-funk monster in super clean condition. Minor discoloration on A-side label. Visual grade: EX to M-, minor warp NAP €150 Carl Carlton – I love only you / So what – Lando 843L-8527 DJ Copy I guess this is sought after for the dancer on the A side, but I strongly suggest you check out the brilliant slice of mid-tempo kiddie soul on the flip, with a twelve year old Carl already showing signs of brilliance at such a tender age. Visual grade: M-, minor warp NAP €125 Tommy Bush – Come on now / Right kind of love – Boxer 3001 Pounding funky edged dancer with a top notch soulful R&B flip. Visual grade: EX, minimal warp NAP €120 Tune Smith – All souled out / Where did you go – Private label Private funky disco AOR kinda thing of unknown provenance. Visual grade: EX €120 Roosevelt Watson – This world is in a bad condition Pt I/II – Designer 45-6966 Rare moody Style Wooten produced gospel. Visually at the lower end of VG but clears up nicely. Visual grade: VG €100 Wynnettes – Oh lord take care of me / I once was lost in sin – Wynnette-Martin 101 Ultra obscure Texas gospel R&B Visual grade: VG, minor short warp NAP €100 Mirage – Can’t stop a man in love / I had a fight with love – WB 8242 Blinding slice of 70s soul that is only featured on the hard to find issue copy. Pressed ever so slihtly off-center. Doesn’t detract for me but just make sure to check the flip before pulling the trigger. Visual grade: M-, minor warp NAP €80 Eldora McDaniel – I know you / Instrumental – McDaniel 101 Total gangster vibe on this enigmatic private release, probably from somewhere down South. Visual grade: G+, medium warp NAP €80 The Bibletones of Boston, Mass. – Lead me and guide me / Everyday that I live to see – Bilesse 016 Driving funky black gospel. Rare! Pressed a bit off-center, but can be played without adjusting. Visual grade: EX to M-, off-center €65 Delilah Moore – I’ll just walk away / I wish – Money 602 Beauty early 70s girlie soul from the artist that recorded on Loma as Delilah Kennebruew a couple of years earlier. Visual grade: VG €60 Connie Pitts – Working people / Thank thee – HOB 1396 Sister gospel funk with a badass low end. Shows up but usually not in this condition. Visual grade: M- €60 The White Singers – When he spoke / Tell the angels – Champ 854 Cool downbeat gospel with electric guitar backing. I’ve had this in the collection because of the funky edged flip so you might wanna check that one out too. Pretty damn rare record btw! Visual grade: VG, medium warp NAP €60 Rev. Donald Gay – So glad I know / My soul – Davis 109 Obscure black gospel on one of the best Chicago labels from the era. Visual grade: VG €55 Master Four – It’s not the end / Love from the far east – Tay-Ster 6024 DJ Copy Doo-wop infused Detroit soul ballad on the 1968 issue. Probably the cheapest copy you’ll see in a while. Visual grade: EX to M-, minor warp NAP €50 Bobby Jackson – You got me rocking and rolling / Dreamy Sunday – Jan 102 Cool Alabama R&B rocker. This copy seems to have lived a full life, but plays better than what the gazillion marks would suggest. Visual grade: F €50 New Swing Sextet – Goin’ out of my head / You better watch it now – Cotique 127 Remarkably good atmospheric latin version of the Little Anthony classic, with a dance floor oriented boogaloo flip. Extremely rare on a 45. Visual grade: VG to VG+ €45 Delorise Berry – No other girl / Crying won’t help me now – Cotillion 45-44008 DJ Copy Driving Florida dance. Clean player. Deep ballad flip has more marks and plays with a bit of noise Visual grade: VG to VG+ €45 Sylvia – If you’re looking for a fool / Seasons of our love – Prestige 70-464 Oddball 70s funk breaks from Alabama. Visual grade: Strong VG €40 Eldridge Homes – Working in the coal mine / A love problem – Decca 32488 Lesser-known version of the Allen Toussaint penned classic. As clean as they come. Visual grade: EX to M- €40 The Southerners – I’ll wait for the lord / Southerners prayer – Jewel 103 DJ Copy Organ gospel funk on a rare white demo. Visual grade: VG+ €35

Demo copy that plays superb. Minor short edge warp NAP Visual grade: Strong VG+, minor warp NAP €1000 Miss Conduct – Title song from the motion picture / Blank – C.I.P. Ltd You’re seeing something you probably won’t see ever again. This was supposed to become the title song of the “Miss Conduct” motion picture, but it never got released, so they never bothered to put out the song as well. Unless anyone proves me wrong this is the only copy known to exist. It’s also an exceptionally good popcon fingersnapper that will be playing in your head for days to come (sorry for that). Only downside it that it’s styrene but it’s that or nothing I guess. Visual grade: VG €500 Bud Harper – Let it rain / Wherever you were – Peacock 1932 DJ Copy Best (and I mean very best) of both worlds with a deeper than deep soulful popcorn cut, paired with an always in-demand R&B/Northern dancer. Clean demo copy too. Let it rain looks barely played, wherever you were has minor inaudible scuffing. Visual grade: EX/VG+, minor warp NAP €400 The Chances – A better day is coming / People wake up before its too late – Finch 106232 Beautiful, super soulful mid-tempo track from a Chicago group but released on the legendary Cincinnati label. My very last copy that I was not planning on ever selling but needs must. Also, make sure to check out the great flipside. It’s actually my preferred side, with which I have cleared many dance floors around the country. I hope the buyer of this will honor this tradition. Some label fading but it’s a really clean copy. Visual grade: M- €275 The Jackson Sisters – I believe in miracles / (Why can’t we be) More than friends – Prophesy 3005 If this needs an introduction you probably have stumbled upon this mailing list by accident. Absolute all-time modern sister funk monolith that has ignited countless dance floors and will continue to do so until the end of mankind. And I bet giant ants will take over the world and dig it too! Visual grade: EX €275 Samuella Williams – I’m tired of stealing your love / Ah-JunKie Man – Top’s 0001 Ultra badman Alabama ballad with a deep funk flip. Sweet side plays with good fidelity but quite a bit of crackle, the funk side looks and plays better. Visual grade: G/G+ €225 Cleo Randle – Big city lights / You got everything – Sta-Set 406 Soulful and great mid-tempo R&B with an uptempo dancer flip. Visual grade: M- €200 SuGaR – Takin’ care of your main man / Instrumental – Extremely Brave 342 Top drawer mid-tempo Chicago funk 45 in stunning condition. Visual grade: M- €150 The Marlboro Men – Iron horse / Never will you meet a guy like me – Nite Beat 1001 Hard-hitting deep funk but not a lot of collectors are aware of the truly great, and quite unique, instrumental ballad flip. Visual grade: M- €150 Dee Edwards – I can deal with that / Possess me – De-To 2285 Probably needs no introduction to anyone with any remore interest in Detroit Soul. This is the version with strings. Surface doesn’t look too pretty but plays with full fidelity and is pretty enjoyable. Visual grade: G €150 Clete Trexler – Lady / Nothing is sweeter than you – Bucky 2890 Catchy late 70s modern dancer with a solid low-end. This one has been residing under the radar but the cat’s crawlin’ out of the bag as we speak. Visual grade: EX €125 The Feminine Society – Who’ll be the loser / Give me a chnce to get over you – Sure Hits 4401 Obscure and quite great early crossover from the DC area Visual grade: VG+ to EX €120 Larry Covin – Marsha / Bone of my bone – Star 144 Private lo-fi outsider ballad that’s previously undocumented. DIY sleeve signed by the man himself. Visual grade: Sleeve VG, vinyl M- €100 Don Heart – Don’t give in / I’m gonna make a come back – D-Town 1030 One of the harder ones on this iconic Detroit imprint. Two good sides too, which is exactly what you’d expect from Mike Hanks productions. Clean copies of this are few and far between. Visual grade: EX €100 Martha & The Vandellas – In my lonely room / A tear for the girl – Stateside 305 Collectible and clean British issue of the excellent mid-sixties Motown/Gordy dancer. Visual grade: Strong VG+, no center €100 The Chimes – The beginning of my life / Coming changes – Down To Earth 72 Clean copy of one of the best soulful dancers ever to come out of Chicago. I know that’s a bold claim but don’t think too many will disagree. Visual grade: EX, medium warp NAP €80 Danny Torres – Skid row rock Pt I/II – Discos Tivoli 1017 Mega rare mexican instrumental surf rocker. Very unusual and cool. Visual grade: Strong VG €75 Helen Hollins Singers – Sad sad (war is) / Deliverance – Hob 1355 Largely unknown gospel funk double sider with message that unfortunately still resonates today. Visual grade: EX €70 Joe Bataan – What good is a castle / My cloud – Uptite 0019 Two essential latin soul ballads for the price of one. Tough one to find clean but here you go. Visual grade: EX, medium warp NAP €70 Scoop Sanders – I’m the boss Pt I/II – Double Soul 112 R&B tinged Chicago funk. Definitely one of the tougher ones on the label. Visual grade: EX €70 Sam Moore – Plenty good lovin (mono / stereo) – Expansion 7-1 Legit re-release of the four figure rarity as a promo for the Expansion CD from 2001 that has the full unreleased album on it. Beautiful copy, sounding great. Visual grade: M- €60 Dennis Wiley – Right on time / Following Jesus – Den’s 2 Uptempo electro boogie gospel privateness. Superficial marks but plays strong. Visual grade: Strong VG €60 Hollywood Flames – I’m gonna stand by you / I’m coming home – Symbol 45-215 Clean copy of this uplifting sixties dancer and one of the last releases from the legendary quartet. Visual grade: VG+ €55 Steve Karmen – Breakaway theme EP – Pontiac 1780 Demo only instrumental version of the Steve Karmen scorcher. Crisp copy that probably never saw a needle prior to me making the recording of the sound file. Visual grade: M- €55 The Casinos – If I told you / Evrybody can’t be pretty – Del-Val 1002 Perpetually underrated uptempo Philly group soul. Clean surface but has a bit of label damage on both sides. Visual grade: M- €35 Big Miller – All is well / Try to understand – Savoy 1181 Mid-fifties uptempo blues shouter with a doo wop flip. Minor label damage on both sides, smightyl more prominent on the flipside. Visual grade: VG+ €35 Soul Searchers – (My) living won’t be in vain / Gone on home – Memorial 36 Slightly quirky, but great vibe on this sweet black gospel 45 outta Lousiana. Visual grade: M- €30 The Rising Simon’s – Simon’s dream / Crying solin – Philips 3051 Cool South African mod organ breaks obscurity. Comes in its OG company sleeve. Some label damage but surface looks and plays clean. Visual grade: VG+ to EX €25 Bettye Scott – Good feeling / Down, down, down – Teako 747 Feelgood crossover jam. I’m down to my last copies and this is the cleanest one I have left. Visual grade: VG+ €25 The Gospel Ambassadors – He died for me / Send your cleansing power – Ha-Lo 07 Deep and soulful downtempo gospel outta Chicago with an uptempo jiver on the flip. Visual grade: M- €25 The Gifts – Lovin’ you / Rock my soul – Ballad 001 Overlooked, but stunning ballad on the flip of a mighty fine St Louis R&B dancer. Visual grade: Strong VG+ €25 The Three Jades – Show me your way / Come on let’s party – Maurci 103 Their lesser known release, has that distinct mid-sixties Chicago sound. Scuffy appearance but an enjoyable listen. Visual grade: VG- €25 Leon Haywood – It’s got to be mellow / Cornbread and buttermilk – Decca 32164 Cheapest one on the list but up there with the best. Came out just a couple of months after the Confederate issue on this pretty awesome looking label. surface marks with very little impact on play, even during the acapella parts. Visual grade: VG €200 Jon Lucien – Rashida EP – RCA 0038 DJ Copy Highly collectable 4 track EP that served as promo for the Rashida LP. Visual grade: Vinyl - Strong VG, Sleeve - VG €170 Gloria Walker & The Chevelles – You hit the spot baby / Walking with my new love – Flaming Arrow 37 Sister funk killer that outshines its four figure counterpart and probably in my top-3 played out tunes ever. If this one doesn’t get you moving you might wanna go see a doctor. Visual grade: EX €120 Lenore Gospel Singers – Sanctified lord / Must Jesus bear this cross – Adams 1000 Sick and mega rare uptempo R&B bomb. This might not pop up again for a number of years. Visual grade: Strong VG €120 Wiley Patterson & The Four-Um – Let’s make it one world / Dream a dream a day – GP 519 Two cuts from the legendary album and most definitely their rarest release. Impossible to find in this condition. Visual grade: M-, storage warp NAP €100 Teri Thornton – Where was I / Molly Marlene – Mothers 1000 Super soulful but very much overlooked 45 by one of the greatest female voices in jazz. Comes with the extremely rare pictur sleeve. Visual grade: Vinyl – VG to VG+, Sleeve VG €100 Connell – What do I think / Time after time – Nellcon 002 Atmospheric modern sweet soul obscurity. Visual grade: EX €80 The Markeys – Someone is watching you / Last mile of the way – Hymnal 1010 LA gospel mover from the mid-70s with as much bass as you can possibly fit into a 7” record. Came out a couple of years back but people are finally wising up to this. Sleeve is signed, small crease on the top right corner and top seam has been unglued. Oval room is a really cool anti-presidential song, worth checking out if you don’t know it yet. Visual grade: EX €30 Spot & The Blotters – Circulating / Soul circle – Equal 459601 Private Michigan funk 45. The flip has always been somewhat overlooked but is definitely worth checking out. Styrene press as are all copies. Visual grade: EX €550 Carolyn Champion – Look what you’ve done to our love / Am I your woman, lover or friend – Molly-Jo 1007 Deepest of the deep, and also pretty damn rare, Georgia soul with an equally impressive sister funk flip. Surface looks pretty clean apart from one 2mm circular area around the minute mark with what looks like superficial marks but is probably a pressign issue as the flipside displays the same issue. Nothing to really worry about but worth mentioning for a record in this price range. Visual grade: Strong VG €500 Mr. Wigg – You’ve got a lot of living Pt I/II – Wiglet 1001 Disco funk banger in perfect condition. Visual grade: M- €450 The Last Generation – Just a chance in life / You’re all I need – Last Generation 308047 Modern banger from Michigan. Even the reissues are going for decent loot nowadays but this a super clean original. Not sure if everyone is aware of the cosmic modern dancer on the flip? Visual grade: M- €350 Colette Kelly – City of fools / Long and lonely world – Volt 4018 DJ Copy Northern staple and the only solo outing on wax of this Baltimore singer, which is a shame for such an accomplished vocalist. Visual grade: VG+ €125 Flesh and Blood – Natural man / Freedom – Universal Audio 55404 Northern tune hiding on the flipside of an obscure Xian rock 45 from Minneapolis Visual grade: VG+ €100 Sonny Ozuna – Smile now, cry later / Hopeless case – Key-Loc 1002 Classic Chicano ballad. Anyway, a slice of greatness that’s pretty rare on a 45 and a beautiful copy. Visual grade: VG+ to EX €45 Rita Paul – Lovem ‘n leavem lover / Shiga, diga, ding, boom – Protone 106 Scarce cabaret popcorn rockerish kind of thing from one of the most famous German Schlager singers in the 50s. Visual grade: VG- €40 The Fabulous Kays – Take me back / It’s too late – Jardin 3001 Audible warp during intro but no heat damage or anything so should be easy to flatten. Surface looks super clean. After some excursions into different genres it was time to return to the mothership with a selection of 100% soulful balladry for the Kiosk Stage at the (quite memorable) Listen! festival.
