Hi everyone in the worcester area, why not drop along to the Cruiser bar in upton on severn ( the A38 side of the river just before the bridge on the left) this is a crackin little place with an NEW extended dance floor plus the Cheapest drinks in town. 'Marrs bar' Pete Robinson spinning the tunes from 8 till 1 am. just a bluey on the door for a crackin nite of SOUL. Who's coming then!!!!!!!!

Twas in deed a pleasure to do banbury , crackin venue ,good sound, nice folks, luv it. Arrived at 9 ish with'Tony the tan' in tow, just a few in by then and a slow trickle followed and by 10 ish the place was warmin up to jon willis followed by resident 'BOB', with a mix of club classics etc, then at 12 it's me, not pissed cos i'm drivin. Thought about doin a james Trouble and funkin it up abit, so started with a few choice oldies then a couple of Bangin funky numbers , led balloon followed so back to the oldies till about 12.45 and the place was startin to empty ( not my fault surely ) so it was play what ya fookin like to finish. I felt a bit sorry for Steve who followed me till 2 though. any way have a look at what i played. Dean, its only me doin the jazz mate the others will be doin a mix of 'BANGIN tunes' from soul, RNB , latin soul, and funky northern via James trouble and the rest of the team. Hope you can make it, it should be a new experience for everyone .

Once again i've got to fcukin defend myself , right then the Marrs Bar has got 500 members and if half of came it 'll be packed , the record being 270 back in 2003 ( kev Roberts book launch ) . Now i'm not in this to make vast amounts of money the Marrs capasity wont let me , i just want this place to go down in the history books as one of the all time greats ( like 100 club etc) it deserves to be, those of you who have been will agree there is no better place to host a rare soul event, it's got all the right ingredients ( split level venue ,thee best sound, intimate sweaty ambience.) All i need is 60 odd SOULIES for the rent and i'd be happy just like the old days ( not that long ago really ) . The next all nighter is MAYDAY bank holiday sunday May 3rd, and i've changed the format for this one it's billed as a TON OF DYNAMITE ( see flyers) with an explosive mix of Funk ( james Trouble) R&B ( Des Parker) Johnny Beggs ( latin ) Karl Heard ( soul ) and myself ( Jazz Funk ) the vibe so far is possitive and i'm lookin forward to this so if your lookin for night to remember 'get down' for this one . cheers lou , could of done with more promotional time,but as it's the first one we dont know what sort ( if any) of crowd to expect. There was a huge ad in the local rag so we'll wait see how many farmers armed with talc for there's wellies.

I've been approached to start a new friday night event at the cruiser bar, the marina,Upton- on -severn in Worcester. Upton is famous for the yearly jazz festival and jane the promoter wants a 'bit o soul ' in the mix. Nothing to heavy just a good old soul night. The place is cosy, holds bout 100, plenty o parkin' so all you glos/ tewkes/ chelt crowd plus the worcs ,get on down to upton this friday. .... flyer in flyers, more in events.. ta Pete

It was 1978 northern had died for me ,Jazz Funk was the coolest move to make, remember the Ritz and the notts palais the locarno etc. The people were the coolist the tunes were brand new album tracks from the states my faves were WILLI BOBO, HERBIE HANCOCK, WILBERT LONGMIER to name but a few , what are yours? any way i'll be doing an hour of stuff at the Rugby all nighter in the free room at 4 am..cya there funksters!!!!!
