***UPDATE*** Hello Ritzy folk! Our April event is a real treat, with two incredibly experienced DJs with mega record collections who love to raise the roof. First up we have Doncaster’s DAVE MACK back at the Ritzy. Usually know for his big rocksteady and ska sets, Dave has a serious Northern collection and his last appearance at the Ritzy went down as one of our best nights ever. Many people open mouthed saying ‘f—k, I didn’t know he had this!’. Heavy northern. And then, as if that’s not enough, we also have DAWN BROWN, one half of the celebrated Scenesville crew, who took over the Notre Dame hall in Leicester Square in the early noughties for those legendary all-nighters. Expect epic tunes, emotions running high. Add to that the fact that the sun may be starting to come out then you’ve got the makings of a brilliant evening. A couple of drinks on the balcony then hitting Ritzy the dance floor. As ever, out Thursday nights are free, you only pay in sweat. See you at the Ritzy! And it's going to be really special - we have none other than the legendary Valatone gang reunited in musical glory to bring an amazing night of joy to the Ritzy dancefloor. So, for one night only you have 3 of the original Valatone DJs - Johnny, Phil and Buey - to take us back to those heady nights at the St Aloysious Club in Euston. Valatone was always one of the freshest, most innovative and much loved London clubs from the early 21st century - and their 2019 reunion at the Fiddler's Elbow in Camden was a total hot, sweaty sell out. It's going to be a big night at the Ritzy as we have two class guest DJs. The life, soul and legend ALAN HANDSCOMBE, and Stephen Bunne aka BUNNY. You all know Alan, but what you might not know is that this is his first proper time playing at the Ritzy. He did one early set a couple of years ago, but this is a proper party soul set aimed right at the dancers. And Bunny is the guy behind BDQ records and ex of Mother Earth (Acid Jazz) and he is, also, bringing us a full soul party set for the night. **CHRISTMAS SPECIAL 8-2AM** This is the one everyone's talking about - the perfect London soul scene Christmas party, put on by the SOUL AT THE RITZY crew. If you don't know our events, we've been running OVO (original vinyl only) soul nights in the lovely room above the iconic Brixton Ritzy cinema now for two years celebrating the best in across-the-board rare 60s and 70s soul. Our Christmas happening is on Saturday December 16th, 2023, 8pm-2am. Expect a warm, joyous night, with a packed dancefloor. **SATURDAY NIGHT SPECIAL 8-2AM** Ok, we have a really special event lined up for October. The last Saturday night was amazing, but we think this might top it! First of all, the Guv’nor, Mr ADY CROASDELL, Mr 100 Club himself will be gracing the decks. He needs no introduction, of course, but we’re thrilled to have him back at Brixton. Next, we have ADAM BUCHANAN!! To quote the highly respected Soul Underground website: ‘A great taste in music, Adam knew how to work the floor. Adam DJ’ed at all the big all-nighters of the day and as well as Top Dog Soul Club at Stafford he was resident for the Central England Soul Club at venues such as Nottingham Oddfellows in Leicester.’ What’s missing from this incredible list, of course, is CLEETHORPES WEEKENDER where Adam was always a big fixture. Finally, we have a great dj from Manchester, a big part of the Manchester Soul Weekender and of course runs his own great night, Let’s Dance Some Mo’ - it’s DARREN SYKES. We cannot wait!
