1) Rokk - Patience/Storm - Can't Nobody Love Me Like You Do (White label one off dub plate recorded and mastered off the original 45's so they sound loud and proud) VG+ £25
Bargain price 2 extremely rare 45's on one 45 - Save your self about £2000 with this 45 - Rokk has been reissued by Numero but it sounds terrible - very low volume and muddy sound, none of that problem here. Storm remains unissued. Back to back brilliance.

2) Kickin' Mustangs - Kickin'/Take a miracle (PLATO 80286) VG+ £100  rare 2 sider Funk/Sweet soul - One frenetic funk workout, the other sweet soul

3) Naomi Davis & the knights of the forty first street - Forty First Street Breakdowne/Catapult (by the Knights of Forty First Street) (Desco 1014) Ex £50

Like new, record plays great. Very rare 45 on the now famous Desco label, the label that kinda started the soul & funk revival in the late 90's, with Soul Fire, Daptone, Truth & Soul (amongst others) following in their foot steps. Sharon Jones made her first recordings
(three 45's) for the label. Other artists that recorded for Desco include Lee Fields, Joseph Henry, Naomi Davis (who made gospel recordings for Daptone as Naomi Shelton), the Sugarman Three and others.
This 45 features one of the best Desco tracks (IMO): the funky "Forty First Street Breakdowne" by the great Naomi Davis (Naomi Shelton). The B-side is an instrumental version of the A-side, called "Catapult". Both sides produced by
Gabriel Roth and Phillipe Lehman, the gentlemen that started it all...

4) Village Crusaders - Akiwawa/Hashishi (Trans-American) VG+ £55
Sought after for the Afro funk and open breakbeat intro of 'Akiwawa' but 'Hashishi' is the side for me with flute filled summery latin funk - Slept on 45 !

5) Soul Toranadoes - Hot pants breakdown/Boot's groove (Magic city) VG+ £55 Original first press. Utterly fantastic Hammond funk. Easily one of the best examples ever recorded. A true classic!

6) The Vibrettes ‎– Humpty Dump pt 1/pt 2 (Lujon Records ‎– 101) Ex £60 Classic funk 45
7) Ray Bryant ‎– Up Above The Rock / Little Green Apples (Cadet Records ‎– 5625) VG++ £100 A superb copy of this much sought after record, the value of which is climbing by the month. £200 on Discogs!

8) Ernie And The Top Notes, Inc. ‎– Dap Walk / Things Are Better (Fordom Recording Co. ‎– FR 105) 2nd issue   £35 Classic New Orleans syncopated funk classic

9) Betty Harris ‎– Mean Man / What'd I Do Wrong (Sansu ‎– 478) VG+  £40

10) Lyn Collins ‎– Think (About It) / Ain't No Sunshine (People PE 608, People 2066 215) VG+ £20 The template for classic sister funk!
