  1. Detroit   wins every time for me  ...But Dave is right when he says about recorded and mastered out of the Motorcity  ...   last time when I was with Stuart  Avig he infomed me that he went to chicago when he recorded  Angelina Oh Angelina  .. I also played him Jock Mitchell  ..No Mad Woman to his surprise didn't know the track which has  the same backing as King for A day  ..50 yrs later first time he ever  heard it  .

  2. at Present I'm having a mad rush on writting songs  and learning  ...   last year when pat lewis was here I took her her in the studio and cut two tracks on her  ,  one of the tracks is titled  ..  "Now you got the key to my heart " .  the lyrics of the track started with ... once I had no one to love Then i've  found  you and all of my cloudy days turned sunny and Blue  ..   ( I wanted to use some lyrics reflecting on one of pats old records and of course chose no one to love... lol )

  3. It came out on a 60's French 4 tracks EP :

    STEVIE WONDER

A Place In The Sun / Be Cool, Be Calm (And Keep Yourself Together)

Thank You Love / Down To Earth

    TAMLA MOTOWN TMEF 543

Cheers didnt know about EPs ...whats the value ?  ....anyone got for sale ?

  4. is it any better though than the Precisions - if this is love ? .... Precisions is better and 100 % Frank wilson :D ..there are loads of Detroit far better ...Eddie Parker is still a great record but not worth what it sells for ... well that's my view on it ..others may think diffrent .

    Paul -

I'm sorry to contradict you as well but - at risk of repeating myself for a third time - JGW does NOT play lead guitar on 'If Only I Could Be Sure' (see previous posts...).

He does play on other sessions from the album....

Tony picked Nolan tonight as he is now staying with myself on way back Nolan tells me JGW plays on " If only I could Be sure" .... only pointing out what Nolan says .

  7. Nolan will be live on bridge radio northern soul show on 22nd July at 7pm ... if anyone intrested .. maybe phone up with any questions i will post link up nearer the time .. Nolan will be still in the country after his work with stone foundation and will be doing selected northern soul venues see events for details . ... anyone in the west midlands you can have a pint or two of the Ruby mild at the becon hotel in sedgley with him ...please pm for details .

  8. you mention simon soussan having the first copy of a gold /yellow proffessionals and now suddenly there is a bad smell in the air.i would love to get a look at one of these to compare with the black vinyl copy. i wonder if steve calloway remembers seeing a copy back then

Dave ... Steve never seen the 45 until he came over here in 2008 and i took him to blue max shop and max showed him his copy .

Is this group the one we are talking about? If so, which one is the lead singer, Steve Calloway? Who are the other members??

Steve is the second guy to the right of the photo . the other photo which chalky posted steve is in the middle . There is a bio on the group somewhere on here which i did when steve first came over to the uk ... 1st time he came as part of the fabulous peps with joe harris , 2nd time we did a groovesville Review with steve solo we did about 5 venues , There is 4 difffrent takes .... the first take was going to be called " I really love my baby " . I do have a video interview with steve will try and upload on here over the next few days , like chalky says he is on facebook ..great wacky loving guy add him as a friend . would anyone like to see steve again if i brought him back over for a few venue's ? also Blue max took steve out one day i think he met up with Dickie and it was Gold steve had a photo took with it .
