A few stragglers in tonight’s selection, who knows they may be of interest….

As ever, sound files available on request
PM to ask any questions or reserve.

Ben E. King – I can’t break the news – Atco 6390 Ex- £50 SOLD
(Big voiced belter from the normally ballady “Stand by me” man, his northern output on this label is superb, plays better than the superficial lines suggest, sticker residue on label)

Funky Sisters – Do it to it – Aurora 165 Ex+ £50
(Sassy feel good dancer, popular at the Torch early 70’s and Mrs M’s in the mid 70’s, minor label fold on title credits)

Sons of Moses – Soul symphony – Coral 62549 M- £40 SOLD
(Fabulous minty stock copy of this instrumental anthem)

Cliff Nobles – My love is getting stronger – J-V 1034 Ex+ £500 SOLD
(Powerhouse dancer in its rarer original local label format, nothing obtrusive on the vinyl, a near perfect play)

Arabians – (Please) take a chance on me – Le Mans 004 WD Ex £300 SOLD
(Superb group soul, one of the best label logos, couple of superficial marks, DNAP plays better at Ex+, light ring wear and X on label)

Chuck Jackson – Any day now / The prophet – Pye International 7N. 25276 Ex- £30 SOLD
(Outstanding beat ballad on UK with original centre)

Johnny Praye – I can’t get too much love – Sidewalk 911 M- £1000 SOLD
(M- vinyl, and only one very small feint mark on the run in, which does not affect play. Labels are graded Ex+ because the top label shows a nearly indistinguishable 10p size off white stain and has light handling label wear on the centre. All in all, it’s a top copy that comes with the fabled artistic company sleeve)

Sam Dees – Lonely for you baby – SSS International 732 M- £550 SOLD
(I met the man at Greenham Common, Newbury many moons ago, live performance to remember. This classic never goes out of favour, normally beat up, but this a top condition copy)

Ronnie Forte – That was whiskey talkin' – Tarx 1011 Ex £375 SOLD
