Montclairs - Hung Up On Your Love - Paula Mislabel
RE:THE MONTCLAIRS Paula 381 "Hung Up" There appears to be about one per month of these sold since July last year. Checkout Popsike: https://www.popsike.com/php/quicksearch.php?pagenum=3&searchtext=The+Montclairs+&incldescr=&sortord=&thumbs=&currsel= The seller is GB and FYI uses the same description: "ONLY 200 copies were pressed. THIS IS A GENUINE ERROR ON THE PART OF THE PRESSING PLANT. THIS IS NOT A RE-ISSUE OR PRESSING"

Monster Ballads Hiding On B-Sides Of Northern Classics
Why not expand the mind ? There's also a thread about Art Gentry at the moment, at the risk of repeating to those following it. The A side to Art Gentry's Merry Go-Round: I've always believed this to be "blue eyed", does anyone know different?

Soulsource Record Club Record Of The Day 2012 (Spring)
There's a current thread about Art Gentry's "merry go-round", which incidentally has a great ballad flip, anyway it reminded me of "this is my chance" which is about as good as a blue eyed soul record can get. I believe that this is CD only, has it ever been put out on vinyl?

Art Gentry - Merry Go Round
Auction ? There's one in stock at Anglo for £30 Always a nice tune in my book, though there was a time when you couldn't give 'em away. The A side is actually a great true "blue eyed soul" tune, I Can't Make It". I was wondering if his Mojo release Breakthrough/Wonderful dream from 1972, was any good? The CD only unreleased "this is my chance" also a great crossover tune. Regards Mick

Help With The Major?
Click here for re-issue (small 45) & bootleg Click here for scan of original. Original will have a large a white Okeh, (unless a white demo, in which case it is black) a large 45 RPM and a Columbia pressing plant zsp matrix number stamped in the run out grooves. Mick

Don't know if the Cheers "take me to paradise" qualifies as a Northern classic , but as it happens the plug side is this beauty:

Dunno what it is, but I really like this. Was it played at the wheel?

The Superlatives - Won't You Please - Dynamics 1012
Just to confirm that this also has "95" and D 1012A scratched in the run out, along with the Nashville etch. Maybe times played tricks on me and I'm thinking of Richard's comment about #1011. Although it is still a surprise to me as mine is a very clean record for a 1960's release, looks almost brand new. Soulsource is a great place to learn from others in respect of this music we all love. Thanks very much for everyone's input. Mick

The Superlatives - Won't You Please - Dynamics 1012
'Cause I seem to recall that's what i was told at the time I bought it about 10 years ago for a tenner, I think at Beating Rhythm. Does anyone have any ideas on value ? Thanks for the input guys. Mick

The Superlatives - Won't You Please - Dynamics 1012
Hi there RE: THE SUPERLATIVES - Won't You Please b/w Don't ever leave - DYNAMICS 1012 I recently saw a copy of this go for decent money. Whilst admittedly the run out has a Nashville etched stamp in the run out grooves, I have been under the impression that it was some kind of re-issue. Anyone know what's the story? Thanks Mick

Vibrations - 'cause You're Mine
Please read this from Select 45 : Don't know how accurate it is, but it starts: "Buying Vinyl today, you really do need to be sure you are actually buying the Original" Original Pressings Info Original Pressings Info "Stereo added to a label of older music often means a 70s press especially if the music is playing in Mono, look at your yellow Epic copy of Vibrations 'Cause You're Mine' with Stereo added & then you'll see it's an early 70s press, not the 1969 one which had narrower & smaller typeface! Stereo 45s do exist from 1958, but will be easily proved originals from other factors." Mick
