Pile of pre-owned books here (see pic below) which don't pass the Gordy-esque quality control procedures adopted at A Nickel And A Nail. Most are soul or black music themed books. All are actually in very good / excellent condition, just picked them up as part of a bigger collection and don't need them for the store. Anybody wants them, £5 each plus post (generous deals on multiples) or if you are within a 20 mile or so radius of Leeds I'll deliver the lot by hand for £50, post free. As an aside, when I interviewed Donnie Trexler, he told me he co-wrote the song "Got what it takes". Donnie was a member of Bob Collins and Fab Five - and also wrote their "Inventory on Heartaches" and "My one and only girl".

Ohio Players - First impressions - UK DJM vg++ / Ex - vinyl, cover as shown. Fab mid 70s-released retrospective (same the US Trip LP, just a couple of years later) on the Ohio Players. Lots of earlier material including "You don’t mean it" (of course!), and other nice tracks "Tresspassin’", "Tell me why" and “Alabama Soupbone” - which if pitched up a little makes for a great Detroity instrumental !
