What a great night at The Rec. A big thanks to all the DJs on the night who gave there time for free & brought donations. The Rec for donating the room, every one who donated to the raffle and every single one of you that turned up on the night. Over £1600 raised for Macmillan Cancer Support at the Roger Conneely Memorial Charity Soul Night, sponsored by Cheshire Soul Club. With out you all it would never of happened & everyone went home happy. 😊👌🏼

I've not had the opportunity visit this venue for sometime, but last night did not dissapoint. Was welcomed at the door by big wide smiles from the two ladies on the door. Even the promoter was at the door welcoming guests with a smile & a warm handshake. It took a while for my eyes to adjust as its old school, dark room ambience. The tunes where banging out & the floor was busy. Top tunes & niter rareaties where the order of the day. It was nice to have a few uptempo tracks on the trot, I must admit it got me right in the zone. If you like uptempo Northern & Motown with a mix of classic & rare soul, with a massive maple dancefloor then this is the venue for you. Thank you to all involved. I will be back!

Another great night, memories made. A big thanks to our guest Kevin Jones for making the trip & sharing his records with us, you read our dancefloor & played a brilliant set. John Mitchell did a great early set, thankyou for making the journey over from Manchester. You have left a lasting impression, the times I was asked your name & where you came from. All you that travelled thank you for making the effort. Everyone who turned up on the night, you make it what it is & with out you it would never happen, a big thankyou from Roger Conneely & myself. Let's do it all again next month.

What a fantastic night at one of the friendliest Soul Clubs around. The moment I walked in you could tell there was a buzz about the place. Standing room only at one point. All here to celebrate the soul night's anniversary, 13years of Northern Soul. Bob Anderson was already banging out club classics as we walked in & this continued until Chris took over. Chris Ellis played a mix of classics, oldies & one or two from the free anniversary CD, which I didn't know. I felt honoured to be invited as the guest DJ on this special occasion. By the time I'm on the club is heaving, the dancers are in & the floor is bouncing. It makes a guests turn so much easier & enjoyable when you have a receptive crowd in & that's what they had Saturday Night. I started with RL Burnside & finished with Big Lee Dowl, mixing it up with everything in between for the whole hour. Bob & Chris carried on until the we small hours & everyone went home Happy. If you've never been before, I thoroughly recommend this friendly club.

First time at this venue & what a great time we had. The music was first class from the moment we entered & until we left. No DJs wittering on over the mic, they let the music do the talking. The dance floor & seating where first class, drinks at proper club prices too. The regulars where very friendly as where the DJs & promoters. The downside was, it finished before midnight & the door tax seemed a little high compared to other local soul nights. Having said that I will definitely be going back.

Had a great night last night, a great dance floor plus great tunes makes it a dancers paradise if you can catch your breath. As bang, bang, bang one fantastic track after another. It made my night when I heard The Volumes - I just Can't Help Myself, one of my current favorites, don't know which DJ gave it a spin, but thanks. It's got to be a five star night from me.
CHARITY SOUL NIGHT AT THE REC CHESHIRE SOUL CLUB
Another fantastic night at The Rec while raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support in memory of Roger Conneely. Seven DJs each playing 45 minutes each of the best Soul & Motown. A total of £810 was raised, which is a credit to all those who turned out, the DJs who gave there time for free & kept the floor busy all night, the raffle organisers. A well run Charity Soul Night well worthy of Five Stars ***** 😊
