Wow… what a pleasant surprise to see (and hear) this!...
Terrys’ Radio Merseyside show was a must-listen Monday night event to someone, like many others, in comparison to today, ‘starved’ of new music on the radio. As an added benefit, it was great to hear Nick start to broadcast a few Northern tracks, albeit, literally, two or three, at the end of the show.
Later through his limited DJ’ing sets a Sutton Conny Club in my hometown of St Helens, I got to know Nick well.
As an avid collector, his taste in Soul had already moved on from stock-in Northern (which he still loved) to less well known, sounds and he put me on to some great records. Nick used to lend me records to listen to at my leisure, which was a great way for me to hear many tunes for the first time, for which I’ll always be grateful and I still have the hand-written lists from our 'swap-meets'.
After many visits to his house, circumstances changed and we lost contact, but hearing this recording brings back many memories from a point in time and sincere thoughts for a really genuine, nice person. If you are reading this Nick, I’d just like to wish you all the very best, and if your around, would love to catch up again…
All the Best

I echo the Wow ! just browsing on here after a long time being away from SS and came across this. Great memories of Nick at The Carlton, he used to have a natter with our gang every week - I was studying chemistry at Tech at the time, so had a bit in common. He was always keen to chat with my little sis Angela and her mates too 8-) Scribbling notes for requests and shout-outs on next week's Keep On Trucking. Great times.

I posted this in April last year:
"At an event a few weeks ago I'm flicking thru a very well known record dealer's box, while chatting to him and another DJ/mate of mine. In the background a record came on which all 3 of us turned and listened to and made favourable comments, not being quite sure what the record was. The dealer then remembered who it was and it's title, ....and by amazing coincidence I had just found it in his sales box, so I pulled it and said, "great, I'll have this".....at which the dealer took it from me and said "sorry i'm keeping it". I thought he was joking, so did my mate, but no, he was serious. "
It was a 30 quidder (!) and turned out to be not too hard to find a few weeks later. I've spent 1000's pounds with this dealer over the years, and for the sake of 30 quid he's lost me as a customer who would probably spend 1,000's in the future.

I had a rather unpleasant experience with a record dealer the other week, so I'm interested in others opinions on this....

IL has been booted from the Northern Soul in OZ FB group for repeatedly posting his podcasts there, after being politely reminded that its not what the group is about: here's his (predictable) response:
What a dick....fans & followers..?? deluded as usual.
My latest enemy, a horrible cow called Sian Davy, has blocked my podcasts from the facebook group NORTHERN SOUL IN OZ.
The unfortunate thing is I have a lot of fans and followers in Australia.
In true Levine form, I told the bitch to go fuck herself.
I ask all my Australian friends to please boycott her wretched group.
