Roda Festival of Soul: Update 25th March 2020 As mentioned in our last event up-date we stated we would keep people in formed of the situation, therefore it’s with deep and sad regret we have no alternative but to cancel the 2020 Festival of Soul in Roda. This is due to the rise in the mortality rate due to the escalation of the pandemic in Spain, plus certain UK Airlines cancelling flights until June, which will again be subject to a further review in that Month. If you have not had any notification of flight cancelations please wait until this directive is received from your specific airline. Charity Souls thoughts are with the local populace of Los Alcazares, who we have the utmost regard for in these troubled times and our thoughts and best wishes are sent to them and concern for the wellbeing of the public at large. For people who have booked accommodation at the Hotel Costa Narejos and cannot attend the May Festival of Soul their deposits will honoured until October 2021, this is from Angel Solano, Director Commercial/Sales Manager, Hotel Costa Narejos. If you have weekend passes booked and paid to Charity Soul we can offer three options for you. 1. The booked and paid for weekend pass for the Roda Festival of Soul be used as entry for the Serena Soul event held in Los Alcazares over the weekend of 25th -27th September 2020. 2. The booked and paid for weekend pass for the 2020 Festival of Soul in Roda, held over until May 2021 for the Festival of Soul, but scheduled to be held at Serena Golf, Los Alcazares. 3. A complete monetary refund of pre purchased weekend passes the funds to be paid directly into your bank account. From a personal point of view we at Charity Soul would recommend the first option, bearing in mind that your accommodation booking is still valid at the excellent Hotel Costa Narejos, with the hope that the pandemic has subsided by the date this event is scheduled to take place. Please contact Charity Soul for your weekend passes choices: Email:rockhilldave9@gmail.com Mobile: 07487589178 For your Hotel accommodation changes: angel@hotelcostanarejos.com Dave Johnson Secretary/Administrator Charity Soul

In light of the pandemic we thought it would be prudent to inform people who have booked passes for the 2020 Festival of Soul to inform them of the current situation as far as Charity Soul is concerned We have not officially cancelled the event as of yet, but are entirely in the hands of the UK and European governments continued directives with regard to freedom of movements and activities of personnel. Charity Souls first and primary concern is the health and welfare of the public supporting us in our music events. We intend the 2020 event to take place on the predetermined dates, 8th May to 10th May 2020 subject to all of the following interlinked conditions being in place. a) Flights from the UK to mainland Spain being resumed on 1st May 2020 b) The Spanish government lifting the lock-down restrictions currently in place being lifted on businesses, people and entertainment c) Local government (Roda/San Javier) approval for the event to take place d) The hotels in the Los Alcazares/Murcia region being able to resume trading and honour previous booked accommodation Should all of the above conditions be lifted or in place, then the 2020 event will go ahead. As the pandemic virus situation is fluid and evolving day-by-day we will endeavor to update people with regard to the 2020 Festival of Soul status, but as previously stated our major concern is the health and safety of the public Dave Johnson Secretary/Administrator Charity Soul
  3. Well what can you say,...............thanks local Goolies (and all others who traveled from Donny, Morley, Hull etc) for making this inaugural event an absolutely incredible banging rammed first night . Nervous first nite nerves soon put to bed when Goole soulies started rocking up at 7:00pm... 30 minutes before official start and then a steady stream of soulies. The atmosphere generated during the night was taking you back to the good old soul club days of yesteryear, due to the low cellar roof in the Capricorn. The comments made by people leaving left was really heartwarming as all enjoyed a truly remarkable 'first nite'.
  4. As TJ says very impressed with venue when the lights are dim this place is gonna generate some atmosphere especially when our 'International djs' are on the decks......ship ahoy
