Our second big event at the Empress Ball Room Mexborough, Northern Soul Charity event with special Guest DJs to be confirmed along with Resident DJs YOGi & HINCHY, Probably the best sprung wooden dance floor in Yorkshire. Ticket entry only , no payment on the door. Tickets are available from the Empress web site at £6.00 each all proceeds to charity. -

Along with secondary guests Joe Whittle and Dean Roach.. Some of the night will be dedicated to the tunes from the Cleephorpes Pier and winter gardens era ,so come along and hear those memories from the 70s. Always a great night..

I have no idea sir, I’m not the kind of chap to step on any ones toes as I have total respect for my soul colleagues. I approached the trustees at the club in the first lock down and was given the go ahead by them.The trustees told me no one was doing the soul nights anymore and the last promoter did not pull many in the club. I hope this clarifies things mate and it would be good to see you at our next event on the 11th September. best regards Yogi

Two of the original DJs who started the soul night at the Athletic club some 20 years a go are resurrecting the event on a monthly basis with guest DJs as before. Playing the best in Northern soul with an across the board music policy.

Northern Soul Night at the Athletic club Oxford Road Mexborough on Saturday 14th August with resident DJs John Hinchcliffe (Hinchy) and YOGI playing across the board tunes. Doors open at 19:30 until Midnight. Guest DJs are Sue and Pete Stone from Rotherham. This will be a regular event on the second Saturday of the month
