Anyone have any info on the Motown weekender in Prestatyn sometime in October??

I don't think it's a question of being against it rather than how it effects other people and that is my concern. We should all have a right to work, relax, drink and enjoy good music etc etc in a smoke free enviroment. The problem, taking away health issues, is that once a "room" is polluted with fag smoke or it's blowing into your face you can't get away from it. It stinks and goes home with you. A smoker (26% of adult population) in a non-smoking venue has the option of going outside for a fag whereas a non-smoker (74% of adult populatuion) in a smoking venue is stuffed. Separate areas don't work (usually because of one or two people who don't respect it) and would be more difficult to "police" than a total ban. At least when implimented it will be black and white with no grey areas (in theory anyway!!). Like most non-smokers I have no problem with poeple who smoke only when their habit, or the residue of it, is inflicted on me. Last point is that the ban is working very well in Scotland and Ireland so why should it not work in Wales (from April) and England. Regards Daz

The loophole may be three walls and no roof!!! I agree that the foxhunting situation is a joke but it ain't going to be the same case with smoking and in my view it can't come soon enough.

About 50% of my customers smoke, Strange that because only 28% of UK populatuion smoke!!! Lets get real on this we are in the 21st centuary. It is a dirty, smelly etc etc habit and should only be carried out by consenting adults in private. The comments about dog ends by doors is also interesting. What do smokers think happens to them? Anyone though of putting them in your pocket and taking home? I remember one top DJ (I will not mention his name) putting his dog ends in a pint pot along with some dreggings of beer and a fair amount of fag ash. Pretty disgusting!!!

You may be a little disappointed. I saw the Temps on tour on their own in Llandudno 4 or 5 years ago. It was a good show but more or less the same as when they were with the Tops. They still only did just over an hour. What seemed ridiculous was that the support act was a stand up comedian!!! You have to really ask who puts these shows together. Chris Clark was an unexpected surprise at Manchester but if I’m honest I thought she was awful; although preferable to the comedian.
