Chuck Jackson’s version is actually a different song—it was written by Van McCoy, while the other one was penned by David Crawford. There's another version of the Van McCoy track, recorded around the same time but never released back then, by Lee Thomas for Wand. Ady recently included it on the Manhattan Soul Volume 1 CD from Kent. While the lyrics may sound a bit similar, these are definitely two distinct songs. It’s an easy mix-up, but a fascinating bit of soul history.
