ive delt with rob smith on and off for 20 odd years,he used to take anything off your hands,now even he is very very picky about what he buys.its all about a quick turn around for him now

dead right,this is just two of 1000s that you see week in week out for sale,as i said i still buy but very careful now.I sold my ojays a few weeks ago,nearly had to give it away

not so much a nest egg bazza,i just got bored with hearing them out on the scene and they just sat at home collecting dust,so i got the cash back on them.Made a decent profit on some but also lost as well.With the lack of people coming onto the scene they wont be woth a in years to come

ive sold a shed load over the last 5 years,still buy but not as much and dont shell big money as much as i use to,the fact being alot of these records arent that rare really.Will be interesting to see who starts selling up first out of the big collectors/dealers.maybe they wont and they will take the records to the grave

i think having a carver done of an un-released track is also done alot nowdays,Its not the same as playing boots of well know 45s.Ive got a few motown tracks i wouldnt mind having done,dont know if i would play them out though

me too bazza,you aint gonna hear them locally unless local promoters (notts) start having quality djs on, i.e djs that have big money records.If that did happen then you come across the old problem of people moaning that the dj is playing that "RARE" shit again which has happened many times before, You can always follow djs around like people use to and still do

yeah i agree bazza but thats the way it is sometimes,id love to go to a local event and hear jimmy andrews,fascinators,enjoyables (on shrine),antiques,hytones etc etc but seeing that there arent many djs that have um i cant.I would sooner not hear them then have someone come up and play boot legs of them

if i had a real cautions and someone at a do played a boot or re-issue before i went on then i wouldnt be very happy

not everyone has got an orig bazza,suppose you could always play a re-issue

dont think it is ok,good on the mike or not its easy to go out and buy boots and dj with them.If you want to be a top oldies jock go and spend a bit of cash.The dj in question does sound better than her boot legs

thats the truth behind it,all you can do is stay away from the events that have this kind of dj on if its that important to you.People dis-agree with it partly because its so easy to do,I could go to rob smiths right now and pick up the "TOP 500" for a few bob on boot or re-issue. As bazza said "just a punter" most are and dont really care
