I've come to terms with this. Someone put a wants up asking for Busters All Stars - Jet 707, a record which I'd got and would never sell, then I thought about it and decided it was crazy to keep it when I could get a white label copy for £10 and it would sound exactly the same. So I sold the original. A few years ago I sold all of my Northern originals and replaced them with pressings. I only play them here so I don't have to prove anything to anyone, and they sound the same as the originals, so I'm happy enough.
Can you offer some kind of therapy Pete, I just can't do it.

the landa 45 bubbled under the billboard 100 in 1964 in reality it should be worth a tenner but some sort of connection always means that it sells for a bit more....madness if anyone pays more than 50 for it though,,,,,on another note if i were to buy a reissue i`d have it on phila soul
I had a vague memory that the sound quality wasn't as good on the Phil La as on the Route, but that could be based on very little evidence . . . . . and even less memory!

US orig is on Landa, prob £50+ depending upon condition for multi coloured issue, there's also a black label silver text that's rarer. Also on UK Route for £5 - £10, thought that would be better than Phil-la unless you want label for specific reason, would have thought about same price.
Prices are a guess for ebay auction

Issue thought to be rare, JM auctioned one a year ago but don't remember price, shortly after a seller put about 5 issues through ebay, I think all went for around £100, perhaps a, little more (can't recall accurately). Sold a couple of yellow demos, put first on for £50 (think) had multiple pms, I think I put next one on for £75 and sold quickly.

..whats the ballpark price on this 45 now.know its 150 in a guide
coz if anybody else wants a copy i have a Mint- for sale
Starting to get a little notice. £150 in guide but not available via that guide. Once I Had a love is £75 in similar guide, picked this up at Prestatyn for £40. Think 'I've Enjoyed being Loved By You' is scarcer and better. I would price my spare at £80, from pms Leev paid less. Not sure of relative price difference issue/demo, I've got 2 demos but not had an issue?

Just a quick one: I know there's been a couple of threads around the Tempests LP recently, apologies if I've missed this info on those threads.
Is there much of a difference in the collectability / value between the Mono and the Stereo issues of this LP. Deciding which to keep.
Thanks, Dean.

Interetsing thread Steve, and hope I'm not reducing to it to a simple "boots" point, but the second issue / reissue nature of Columbia Special Products rosta got me thinking. The MGM SP's were boots weren't they? Or are they more complicated than that. I could never understand the Special Product motif, but was glad it was there as a clear identifier for those of us not so well informed at the time.

Stick 'em over bootlegs to make them look like original WDJs........................
That smacks of the truth. (just edited a rant there). My son worked for a while in an office supplies in Mansfield, where a well known record collector regularly took records in to have labels copied back and front in high resolution. I wonder why?

Just out of interest is Lonnie Lester scarcer without the Chuck Dancy credit? Mine is simply Lonnie Lester and don't see that many single credit?

I paid £100 for a much poorer looking one (issue) although plays well. I don't think that the fact it sits in a sales box at £150 means that much regarding what it would go for on-line to a wider market (no disrespect to poster at all). Given condition Pete I think you would easily land £200. Ex+ records are becoming increasingly difficult and with the HM customs charges biting buying habits from the US UK sales are looking more tempting.
I'm not doing my pal SteveL any favours here, I vaguely remembering him mentioning to me he wanted one but he will only purchase Ex/Ex+/Mint. PM him if you want to Pete.

So many would fit the bill, but avoiding obscure and going for obvious (but bloody brilliant):
The Supremes - Nathan Jones
Temptations - (Loneliness made me realize) It's you that I need
Most of the Four Tops classics but in particular - Do What you Gotta Do, also Ask the Lonely
and currently taking up residence on a deck near me Bobby Womack - Across 110th Street
posting that has prompted me to get those together on ipod and play them on a loop as soon as spring arrives!

This may have been done before but I'll ask anyway . . . . are these the same beach music Shandels (one L I think, not got that box here to check at moment) as Ellen and The Shandels, also seen it referred to as Ellen and the Shondells but am not aware if that relates to a different label print?
Just curious?

The affair began back in 73/74. I was young and Northern Soul was so mature mysterious and sexy. My affair with Bowie hadn't amounted to anything, looking back I was immature but he was aloof. NS and I flirted with each other whilst at school, we had a room as a music club and she beckoned me on in that way she does. I think it was 75 when we took our relationship to the next level and spent the night together at Nottingham Palais. Boy, did she lead me on, she had me buying records from that night. I knew there were others, and I've been unfaithful over the years, indeed Bowie and I still keep in touch. But she had me from that night in Nottingham, the bitch!
Sharon Scott Sorted Thanks

I've got a nice clean RCA black issue but it would take £160 plus postage to leave the box it's in. You may get a demo a little cheaper if you hold out, they go through ebay more often than issues.
