  1. Ha, perhaps not retirement but we've not seen Sam in Burnley for some time, due to be at lost souls at the begining of lockdown this is our first opportunity to welcome him back since his legendary sets for us at the White Bull in Gisburn, should be a day to remember.
  2. Looks like last one this year as the old place gets a major makeover, the August event will be replaced by Rolls Royce Barnoldswick.
  3. Ginger and Roman been with The Muni for 25 years, great Edwardian theatre with sprung floor and balconies in use. Home of the Great British Blues Festival
  4. Burnleys Dave Comer steps in on this one, a great local collector his roots are in the old Burnley Miners club.
  5. Celebrating 25 years of soul at this splendid Edwardian venue.
  6. Also featuring regulars Roman, David Ferguson, Richard Lodge, Wendy K and Jill Davidson.
  7. Yes it's a real pleasure to welcome Guy to Burnley and a Lost Souls session, it's over 20 years since I was on the same bill with him as he drew a massive crowd to the black Horse in Skipton back in the 9ts. No idea what to expect but for sure hes got a free reign to spin records and stories of his choice. Welcome Guy. I understand the last broadcast under its current home by Tony and Guy is in December 28th, worth a listen. Roman.
  8. Perhaps as it's an evening do some uptempo
  9. Great nights here at the Original Birdtrap, ran at same time as Twisted Wheel on Whitworth st
  10. Christmas special at Lost souls, some quality guaranteed.
  11. Great evening in prospect with lost souls in festive mode.
  12. Set to be very busy, a strange fact, the two venues I run have always been popular with Yorkshire as well as Lancashire soulies, to the point where it's about 50/50, thats Rolls Royce Barnoldswick, where Lodgy is taking over the reigns and Burnleys Lost Souls. Barnoldswick was in the West Riding of Yorkshire, so close to Yorkshire, Lost Souls at Greenhill is 5mns away from the Leeds to Manchester rail station at Manchester rd. Burnley and the X 43 bus route to Manchester so that's another reason but the main one I'm told is the music policy and djs we have. Next gig is December 28th with Ginger Taylor and his rare box and then a big day in prospect with Guy Hennigan in January.
  13. Tickets at 190 now with pay on door it seems we are on course for last years 300+ traditionaly it's been a pay on door event but since lockdown ticket sales have run at 50% of the total, I've asked first limit of 350 in the night. Fabulous old hall which oozes soul, it's seen Bobby Bland, Irma Thomas, Booker T, Syl Johnson, Edwin Starr, Blind Boys of Alabama, founded 24 years ago by Roman,Ginger Taylor and Terry Motown Davies its stood the test of time, old school classics with today's big sounds great sprung floor.
  14. Cheers Double six, after 24 years I think we know what to expect! A classic soul night paying homage to the early years of the iconic soul clubs of those halcyon days of the 6ts and 7ts. Early doors Motown/Stax etc then the tunes from the Wheel,Wigan,Mecca and then the big tunes of today. With Ginger Taylor,Roman,Richard Lodge and Mike Kemp, the 24th annual xmash bash tickets or pay on door. £5 7.30 til 1am. Edwardian Hall with sprung dance floor, balconies in use.
  15. Great little club, sorry I can't be there on Sunday.
  16. Sorry only saw this late D. Great to see you all, Carl Piper especially.
  17. Looking forward to this, great idea from Richard Searling donating tickets for the big re union at King George's Hall in January, a free raffle. I will donate two tickets for the Xmas bash as Colne Muni for best dancers. Should be a good night with Rovers and Burnley vying for top spot.
  18. Special guest djs Phil Dick and Glyn Hanford, that guarantees awesomeness. A great celebration of a night that led the way for a long time.
  19. A chance to catch the vibe of a White Bull Gisburn soul event at a new venue whilst the Bull undergoes changes, djs from Winter Gardens, Tower, Okeh Kieghley and Wardrobe Leeds, and the ladies of Burnleys lost souls.joined by Lancs and York's djs. A lovely venue, fully sprung dance floor, great sound system. Ticket went on sale today 21st July and a quarter of the limited number sold, tickets from the ball or Roman and Lodgy or djs.
  20. Two tremendous events since we reopened here, a Yorkshire/Lancs flava to this with Glyn Thornhill and Roman from the Winter Gardens plus Todmordens Billy Boo Murray. Regulars Richard Lodge, David Ferguson, Wendy K and Jill Davidson. £1 2 til 8.45. Haffners pies a d rel es at keen prices, outdoor areas, close to Manchester Rd Rail station, connects to Leeds Bradford etc. Two djs from the Gillows/ Old Vic Winter Gardens,Roman and Glyn Thornhill. Lodgy from Leeds Wardrobe. This is last one till end September.
  21. Guest djs Glyn Hanford Burscough and Howard Whiteside Preston. We welcome back David Ferguson.
  22. Private car park 5 mns from Manchester Rd Rail station with connections to Leeds etc.
  23. A true conniseurs event, ask anyone there, from North Wales, Barrow in Furness, Hull soul club, a large Yorkshire crew, Leeds/Bradford plus all areas of the North West. It was our first event back and the club looks fantastic, the famous Haffners pies sold out and Lodgies cd compiled by supporters and djs as well as selling lots in the night has been requested across the country so Burnleys lost souls at Greenhill lives up to its pre lockdown reputation. Djs at June's event include residents Roman,Richard Lodge, Wendy K and Jill Davidson back from her Benidorm DJ spot. Howard Whiteside joins us and the guest djs will be announced shortly.
  24. Fantastic day last Sunday, over s hundred in, rare and underplayed plus xover, Chuck Cockerham, Northern Lights, Major Williams etc. Wendy K and Jill Davidson caused no small interest with a great underplayed selection with dancers in the floor early. Ginger played from his select box and was awesome. Carol Gilboy and Howard Bevan from Southport carried on seamlessly with a great selection and kept a by now rapturous crowd happy, more of the same from Richard Lodge and Roman made this a magical dayer with a crowd that appreciated the music.
  25. Starting at Soul@the Ooze in Barnoldswick,,then Hearts of Albion, Earby we ended up at Rolls Royce Barnoldswick, 25 years in all. A great loyal crowd of Lancashire and Yorkshire soulies have been waiting for this. Regular anniversary jocks Roman,Mike Kemp and Richard Lodge will be joined by a special guest to be announced.
