AND THE EXCITEMENT OF NORTHERN SOUL
St Paul’s gallery will open its doors to a new exhibition by virtually
recreating the sights and sounds of the famous Wigan Casino home to
Northern Soul.

On 21st November in the heart of the Jewellery Quarter on show will be
the award winning art of David Barrow RA, together with the wonderful
sounds of Northern Soul Music echoing throughout the gallery
at the hand of non other than DJ Fay Jones. Fay is an advocaat of Northern
Soul, an avid follower of David’s work.
This will be an unforgettable evening of nostalgia, absorbing art,
atmosphere and classic music from an era that will live on forever.
The evening will be highlighted by dancers, and there will be much
memorabilia on display
In addition there will be dancers to demonstrate the athletic and innovative dance moves
associated with the music. Also on show will be paintings from the soon to be released
feature film: ‘Souled Out’

Altogether the night should prove to be as spectacular as the paintings that will remain on
show at the gallery right through until the 24th January.
Amongst the collectors and admirers of Barrow’s work are Birmingham’s own ‘Ocean
Colour Scene’, and also Paul Weller.
The 21st is VIP evening by invitation only, the exhibition will run from 22nd October thru to
