Photographer Brian Cannon is exhibiting some of his most famous works at the Manchester shop after shooting the fashion label's latest collection
The show comes after he was recruited to shoot Pretty Green’s autumn/winter collection, which is inspired by the Northern Soul movement that emerged in Britain in the late 1960s.
Brian, who was born and raised in its Wigan heartland and has been photographing the still-thriving scene for the past three years, said: “Funnily enough, it had nothing to do with [my Oasis connection].
“Somebody from Pretty Green had seen my Northern Soul photography and contacted me to see if I would come and do the shoot.
“They didn’t actually realise I’d worked with Liam in the past.”
The collection incorporates woven badges in the style of sew-on patches created in the 60s by clubs like Wigan Casino and Manchester's Twisted Wheel, along with geometric prints inspired by those worn by black soul and Motown artists at the time.
