Next up on the Soul Sounds series we are joined by Northern Soul/Modern Crossover fanatic Richio Suzuki
Richio first began collecting Northern Soul at the age of 12, collating a collection of sounds which rubbed off on him.
By 15 he made friends with resident Malcolm Wright and began scouting out the Mod scene and a new era of music.
By 21 Richio began his journey into DJing and with other 40+ years of experience Richio has earned his stripes as one of the most respected men in the Northern Soul/Modern Crossover scene.
We are truly honoured to be inviting him down, he will be joined by guest dj’s Paul Creswell, John Hibbins and the Soul Sounds residents.

The third of these unique events, right in the middle of a barn, right in the middle of a farm.
West Benridge Farm, to the west of Morpeth, Northumberland, has been hosting many music events for many years. For the last three years however, they've hosted the All Northumberland Northern Soul Appreciation Society, and put on the most fabulous nights of soul and Motown for all to enjoy.
In a totally different environment, i.e. a fully operational cattle barn, the dance floor has been specially installed specifically for us and there's a huge sound system, full-on vinyl being spun by our 5 resident DJ's and a mobile bar and food lorry too.

🔈IT’S HAPPENING AGAIN! IT IS ON! We return with the next episode of our much loved, completely FREE entry, quarterly session. The Viva Soul Club is back behind the turntables for our big Summer Party 2025. Taking place on Saturday 19th July, just before we all go our separate ways for the summer holidays, at the friendliest bar in Brighton, The Round George’s in Kemptown. It will certainly be another real nice social all-dayer & a chance to hear some wonderful records through a seriously good soundsystem. Easing you in through the afternoon, we’ll have you on your feet by the early evening! Underplayed soulful music from around the world. Hidden gems, choice classics, rare bits, bargain-bin digs & overlooked b-sides beside the seaside. Myself & Paul are delighted to be joined once again by our very special guest, Gary Johnson, regular selector for Mr. Bongo records. A guy with more bangers than a large scale firework display! This event is FREE ENTRY and kicks off at 3pm in the afternoon until closing! This party looks set to be our best one yet so arriving early is highly recommended to ensure entry.
