As i went into do my daily rituals at my local coral shop this morning there happened to be a virtual race then getting underway at glebe park , the commantater kept saying northern soul which happened to be the favourite in a virtual horserace, so nextime you are in your local bookmakers keep your eyes open as you might be able to win a few quid on northern soul , just for the record today it finnished 2nd . Whatever next i wonder.

There was an actual Race horse called Northern Soul in the mid 90s ran a few times but never won as far as I recall...

Not aware of any other horses with genuine NS names though...

Northern Dancer is regarded as one the greartest thoroughbreds of all time but was born just before our scene got going...always thought it would be great to name a racehorse after a Northern Artist.
