Following a thread about Tony Middleton / Bobby Matos - Already Satisfied (Speed) a week ago, Dean Rudland posted on the thread to alert me to a compliation he'd put together. The Soul Of Spanish Harlem. Got one from Amazon the other day.............Superb.
Opted for vinyl rather than CD. Brilliant four sides of listening pleasure. Couple of big northern based tracks including the above and 107th Street Stickball Team - On Old Broadway. The album is latin taste by great varying degrees, some obviously so - some so subtle you need to listen with care to hear it.
Artists are:
Ralfi Pagan
The Terrible Frankie Nieves
Titos Ramos
The Harvey Averne Dozen
Monguito Santamaria
The Lebon Brothers Orchestra
Joey Pastrano
107th St Stickball Team
Ray Jay & The Eastsiders
125th St Candy Store
Parrish
Ronnie Marks
Olivieri
King Nando
Tony Middleton & Bobby Matos
The Lat-teens
The Nitty Sextette
Russell Cohen & The New Yorkers
Ralphie & The Latin Lovers
Joe Bataan
Thought it worth a shout to those interested. Dean
