MELO-DEE MUSIC RESEARCH (and REG. BARTLETTE) ARE PROUD TO OFFER FOR SALE THE PERSONAL PHOTO ARCHIVAL COLLECTION OF MR. AL ABRAMS (MOTOWN'S 1ST EMPLOYEE). GO TO WEBSITE www.melo-deemusicresearch.com OR reginald@mail2world.com for more details plus photo samples.

Meet the Supremes, Marvin Gaye, The

Temptations, Stevie Wonder, The Four

Tops, Martha and the Vandellas and Berry

Gordy. Up close and personal in this

unique collection of 128 - 8 x 10

photographs from the original photo

archive of Mr. Al Abrams, the first

employee of what was to become Berry

Gordy, Jr.'s Motown Record Corporation.

Abrahms joined in 1959. Working

originally as National Promotion

Director, he ultimately became the

company's Director of Public Relations

during the label's glory years of

1964-67.

Included in the archive are rare candid

and behind-the-scenes photographs from

the historic Tamla-Motown Tour of the UK

and Europe in 1964. Every major Motown

artist is represented in this authentic

assemblage including Eddie Holland,

Barrett Strong, Marv Johnson, Brenda

Holloway, Smokey Robinson and the

Miracles, and scarce photographs of

Booker Bradshaw and Florence Ballard

from her career as an ABC Records solo

artist. Avid Motown collectors will

easily spot legends such as James

Jamerson of the Funk Brothers and

William "Mickey" Stevenson in several of

the images.

The grouping also includes rare

photographs of the famous 1964 "March on

Hitsville" by fans of Tommy Good, a

Northern Soul favorite, demanding that

Motown and Berry Gordy, Jr. release a

record by the popular white singer.

Some of the photos go back to 1959 and

precede the establishment of the Motown

label.

All of the photos are stamped on the

verso for authenticity as having

originated in Al Abrams' photo archive.

There are no photographs later than

1968.

Watermarks on photographs will not

appear on actual photographs.

Bidding starts at $999.99 USD with no reserve.

Auction is 10 days. Method of Payment is PayPal only.
