Offered for set sale here is what I believe to be a previously unknown Texas Soul 45. The artist and label owner had told me this record existed, but neither had a single copy. As luck would have it, I ran across a small quantity of unplayed stock copies. This 45 has a great New Breed Soul sound, very much in the James Brown bag. The flip is a nice group vocal. As far as I can tell, this is the first recorded performance of James Polk & the Brothers.
