I am considering offering fedex as an international shipping option on all of my 45 auctions (I am located in the US). I have a very good discount and it would cost between $20-$25 (60% off their normal rates) to send 1-6 45's to pretty much anywhere in the world. The package would arrive in 1-3 days with full tracking. I feel the full tracking is the greatest advantage over USPS. I guess my question is, would this be a service you would be interested in using? I know the cost are higher, but the security and speed are much better and reliable. I would love your input so I know whether or not to implement this as an option. Thanks in advance, Donald.

Hi Mate We use Fedex for all of our imports from U.S and Jamaica and they are great the only problem from the U.K point of view is that Fedex usually process all the packages and declare them to customs .Fedex pay the tax and then charge the importer they add an extra ten quid for this service , so on small amount's this can prove to be a little more exspencive . Royal Mail do exactly the same thing for items sent via USPS.

The issue is the amount declared on the customs declaration when it comes down to import charges.

Anything over $50.00 will incure charges..

VAT & Duty... It is illegal not put correct value.

You can put a statement on invoice " For customs purposes only (Then a value) ie $4.50

All import companies put a sliding scale charge (brokeridge charge) for processing via Customs & Excise..

UPS starts at £11.00, Post Office seems to fluctuate, said before FedX £10.00
