As I travel down my Classic, Southern & Deep Soul path I find myself being more and more drawn into Soul/Gospel. Although not religious in any way I can really appreciate the passion and intensity put across by some really great vocals. I can only imagine the impact some of these tracks must have if one was a believer and could really relate to the lyrics.

The Spiritual Four (track 3) is FABULOUS and just the kinda stuff that knocks me out.

Excellent mate - I feel exactly the same way.....there really is some sublime stuff locked away on tiny labels often released by the local church.

And yes, the pure emotion blows me away too.

I'll be doing a little mini-series of these so look out for Volume 2 in a month or so.
